Welcome to the IPY, a special boarding school for problematic children from 10-17 years old. Next to ordinary subjects and special activities, the students here also have a "re-education class" where they are supposed to talk about their problems and their future. They also have free time and bedtime (girls and boys sleep in two separate dorms) and they sometimes have to do work.

The "problematic children" in question are mostly children who have committed some sort of crime. This can be any sort of crime (normal or crazy things), as long as it does not break the CS rules.

Not all the students have to be normal humans. Some of them can secretly be humanoids or non-human creatures, in human form. You can decide whether your characters are human or something less ordinary. Their crimes can reflect their species (for example if someone is a troll, he could be arrested for vandalism, violence or cannibalism), but that doesn't have to be the case (who says trolls would never do shoplifting?).
Even teachers and staff can be supernatural creatures, but this should not be common.

In the beginning, none of the other characters (including the teachers) know what kind of species your character is. Also, to begin with, nobody knows that anyone is a non-human creature in the first place (besides themselves). The humans in general do not know that non-human creatures exist, though there could be some exceptions to this rule.

You are allowed to add more stuff, such as hobbies, sexual preference, possible disorders, rich/poor, favorite subjects, favorite foods... Whatever you want. You are allowed to add the family situation of a teacher or staff member, but it is not required.

We don't need any more people and the large amount of characters is making this roleplay kind of chaotic, so that is why we are not accepting anymore. Sorry .

Students (try to keep genders even; also, I would rather have more boys than girls than vice versa, because it is true in real life that there are more boys in places like this, and also three of the guys are gay)
Teachers (list your subject, only one teacher per subject and vice versa - if you aren't sure your subject is okay, you can check with me)
Staff (maids, janitors, cooks, doctors, nurses, etc. No more guards please: we already have three.)

NOTE: If you make another character and want it to be a student, I would rather have HUMANS, because we don't have many human students.

Looks: mysterious-looking, with shoulder-length dark hair, dark eyes, and dark clothing (usually a suit)
Character: Mr. Warren is strict, overly ambitious, often has high expectations and feels superior towards children and most adults. He thinks strict punishment is good but that it shouldn't go too far. He is somewhat of a control freak and wants order in his school. He likes students who work hard. He dislikes students who slack off or goof around. He spends most of his time doing paperwork in his office or marching around the school making sure everything is in order. However, he occasionally takes a break from work and paints paintings in his office. He is sort of lonely, so he paints happy families and hangs them on the walls of his office to keep him company.

Looks: Mr. Lee has blonde hair and a small beard. He likes to wear clothes that are for guys but are somewhat feminine (like shawls). He has bright green eyes.
Character: Although he is not a mean person and doesn't like to use physical punishment, Mr. Lee can be very annoying, because he is so pushy. He is an optimist and thinks he can help all the students. He likes to ask a lot of personal questions. He also likes to hear himself talk and thinks he is smart. He wants to be like a friend or a daddy to the students, which is not a very realistic idea . He craves attention. He lives in his own world sometimes, and exaggerates everything. He can be sort of immature.
Sexual preference: I think he's bi: he flirts with everyone, by accident and on purpose .
Family situation: He grew up in a large family with a lot of siblings, where he didn't get much attention from his parents. He wants to make a new family for himself out of the people at the institute, and he wants to be a nice daddy for the students, because he knows a lot of them have family problems and he also sort of knows what it's like to be neglected by your parents (except that he tends to overestimate this 'understanding').

Family situation:mum died and her steep dad got vilent towords her. and her older sister turned agansed her so she ran away and lived on the street only takeing a few things from home with her
Character:Clara is very quite, hidden girl that hates talking to other people. she just wants to be left alone. although. this is what she thinks she wants. not what she really needs. clara has truble opening up to anyone. she is a quite fade into the wall girl that is quite smart. if you can manges to make it past her out side you will find a nice kid hidden underneath

Character: Storm is very strict and not very open about anything. manly because when she was little she was turned to a vampire. she was scared to let others know and became very secretive. she thinks the best thing to do is treat them like they are normle and exspects them to work. if they don't work she sitss them at the back of the class and lets them do nothing

Crime: he killed his mother but only in self defense although the cops did not believe him

Family situation: well he does not know his father and his mother was very abusive towards him blaming him for being the reason his father left. When he killed her he was living on the streets in alley ways. He was also kidnapped once but he got away. It also turned out that Chloe is his older half sister! He is also good friends with JT and Chloe as well!
Character: He is shy and withdrawn and does not talk much. He is also flinchy whenever a person raises their hand or yells. He has a photographic memory so he is very smart and bright but sometimes he does not do the work because he feels like it's not challenging enough. He fears adults especially women and he hopes he could one day meet his father. He is also British!

Sexual preference: Straight
Character: Domenic is a hopeless romantic who daydreams a lot. He is also very obedient and loyal and finds his duty very important. Socially, he can be pretty smart, since he is a friendly and understanding person, but in other ways he is not the brightest: he is gullible (easily believes what you tell him) and thus easy to fool.
At the moment, he is the only guard (this is true until more people start roleplaying guards ). Because of this, Mr. Warren makes him do a lot of work and he isn't allowed to sleep much. This causes him to be sleepy a lot, sometimes accidentally dozing off.

Name: Alexis Brightfield
Age: just turned 15
Gender: female
Species: human (but knows werewolves exist because her little brother is one)
Crime: She was arrested for launching a rocket without permission and for vandalism (the rocket landed in some farmer's meadow and exploded, leaving a crater). The people working on her case couldn't figure out why she launched the rocket: they thought perhaps she was trying to kill the farmer or that maybe she worked for some terrorist organisation, but they couldn't find proof for either of those two theories. This is because neither is true. What really happened is that she wanted to help her little brother, who was having a hard time coping with being a werewolf. So Alexis tried to blow up the moon. Her logic was as followed: ~my little brother is upset about being a werewolf, his werewolf problems are caused by the full moon, so if I blow up the moon, it will never be full moon, my brother won't transform, so he will be happy again.~
Looks: Alexis has short, blonde hair with bangs and wears tomboyish clothes, usually a light-colored T-shirt with pants or shorts with pockets. She often likes to wear a necklace over her T-shirt. She doesn't usually wear make-up. She has light brown eyes and is slightly smaller and more muscular than average.
Sexual preference: guys… and objects… and perhaps other things: she's pretty open-minded about that
Family situation: Her parents are nice but have trouble coping with her, so their relation is mixed, but not too bad. She is very close with her little brother Simon and feels protective over him. What she likes least about the institute is being separated from her brother.
Character: Alexis is very determined. She is usually confident. She often likes helping and protecting younger children (11 and younger) and is usually nice to them unless they aren't nice to her or to people she cares about. Towards people her age and older, her character can vary, since she sometimes has random moods. She sometimes likes to scare people. She also sometimes does weird things that she thinks are gestures of friendship, but that others may interpret differently (like she would catch a mouse and give it to someone as a present). She likes random stuff (staring at walls, tasting flies, drawing abstract notions like "the weird thingies that go in your foot when it's sleeping").

Subject/job: History teacher
Looks: Jared shares the same bright green eyes as Michael Lee and two of their four other siblings. He used to have blonde hair, but he dyed it reddish brown to give himself a rebel look. He is muscular and has a tattoo on his shoulder, and a smaller one (of a fish) on his foot.
Character: Just like Michael Lee, Jared is usually in a good mood, likes to hear himself talk, craves attention and wants to have fun constantly. What's different is his definition of 'attention' and of 'fun'. Jared thinks it's fun to hurt people and it gives him an ego boost when they are scared of him. If he likes you as a real friend or a real love interest, he can be a nice guy, though he is not always trustworthy. However, most people he just likes to hurt, scare, bully, or tease in a friendlier way. As a teacher, he is strict, picks on the students and is often unfair. He punishes naughty kids, but he also likes to punish goody goodies for tiny things they did wrong, just because he dislikes goody goodies. He is a good fighter, but sometimes he is too much of a daredevil and overestimates himself. Also, he is a bad loser and will get really angry if he loses a fight, or even an argument, or if anything else happens that he considers humiliating. When he was little, he was often quiet, but now he talks quite a lot and enjoys talking.
Family situation and personal history: He is the youngest of Michael Lee's brothers and the second-to-youngest of 6 siblings (the youngest is his twin sister Chelsea, who was always sort of girly and cute, so kind of the opposite of him). Just like Michael, he grew up in a family with too many siblings, where he didn't get enough attention. Jared, however, was a quiet kid at home and didn't really try to get attention from his parents or siblings: instead he looked elsewhere for attention, like with his friends, teachers or the police. He got into trouble constantly, but he didn't care, because he thought that was cool. He was put in the IPY and he bullied other kids there. The only classes he liked were P.E., because he was good at it, re-education, because he got to hear about other kids' problems, which he found cool and funny, and history, because of all the wars and other violence. He wasn't good at history at first, because he couldn't memorize all the dates, but because it was the only subject he liked that had tests, it was the only subject he ever studied for, and this gave him a lot of time to study for it, which made him become better and better at history. In the end, he even knew most of the dates.
Other: He calls Michael Lee "Mickey", "Mike", "Mickey Mouse", or other nicknames, but never "Michael" and obviously not "Mr. Lee". When he's not paying attention, he sometimes calls him names of his other older brothers (Peter and Danny). Michael Lee calls him "Jared", "Jerry", "Little brother" and other nicknames.

She is a bubbly, happy teacher. Most people go to her for psychological advice instead of the school's psychologists. She is also a bit of a goth, a rocker, and a punk. She's great fun to be around.

And then fly kick them in the face for abandoning her with a bunch of other girls. That's only biological parents though, she was adopted by a lesbian couple, called Aeron and Idona. They are mega punks, and, in her words, rock.
Character:
Violet is a punk rocker girl, who despises other people of the same gender. She befriends guys, but has never had a crush. She can't stand girls, though. They are boring and girly and pink and are into pop music, and have crushes, she could spend all year listing problems with her gender. She is normally shunned, mostly because of Aeron and Idona, but she doesn't care. They're cool. She is a rocker tomboy, with a very sarcastic attitude to life.

He's a lab experiment gone wrong. When he was born, his parents (scientists) experimented on him with this and that. It was mostly harmless, but then they took it too far. He was six, and they were trying to enhance the 'inner genius' within. This involved using brain waves, but it went horribly wrong. He was given the accidental ability to control electricity. He almost blew up the entire lab. He can't control it. As he grew up, he began to hate his parents for what they did. Not wanting this, and being scientists, they made a machine and wiped his memory. All he can remember of his life is the past two years. But in that time, his parents died. And he can't remember why.

Despite his dark, twisted past, Isaac is a strange, happy person. He is hyperactive quite a lot, and is generally smiling. He is also musical, playing a grand total of nine instruments, and singing. He is a fan of rock music, and loves head banging along.

When you manage to have a conversation with him, he has a way of making you feel good about yourself, but lowering his own self esteem. He is good at most things he does, but he thinks he's terrible at everything.

He loves anything dark and twisted, like murder stories and zombies and vampires and brutal kidnappings. He has a shelf dedicated to crime novels in his room, which he stays up reading until about three in the morning, hell to all sharing a room with him. He's openly dark and creepy, and thoroughly enjoys watching people's reactions to him.
