Ottersplash pounced on the thrush. She carried it back and saw Applestep. "First prey."

Applestep got up, gave a nod and, motioning for the she-cat to follow, headed out of the camp on light, petite paws. At once she was taken in by the sounds and scents. The she-cat gave a purr, her brown eyes opening wide. Sounds of prey and insects filled her ears.

Flicking a peach coloured ear, Applestep noticed small movement close to her. Waggling her haunches, tail low and paws splayed, the she-cat leaped in an exhilarating pounce. She landed, square, on a squealing vole in the brushes. Dipping her head low she parted her jaws and sharply bit it in the back of the head. Satisfied, she sat back and gave her paw a lick, proudly sitting over her catch.
