Stagjaw shivered. His den was cold with no other elders, and he wondered if he would live to see newleaf. He coughed a bit as he stuck his head out of the den. "What's all the- oh..." He came over. "No... no... no..." He sank into the snow. Again!

[wolfblood.]

"D-don't W-w-worry. Jackalfang's in Starclan, and hopefully F-fernshade's F-f-found H-h-happiness." Gingerscratch Stumbled Her Words As She Spoke To Poppykit.

Poppykit
I sniffed "Is it nice in Starclan will Jackalfang like it there?" I asked quietly

"I-i-i Guess H-h-he'll l-l-like it." Gingerscratch Didn't Know What To Say, As She Looked Back At Her Pawprints In The Snow.

The elder hauled himself out of the snow and came over to Poppykit. "It's always greenleaf there, and there's plentiful prey. The night is full of starlight and the days are always warm," he meowed to the kit, coughing a bit more. "Jackalfang will be with all the other cats that aren't alive anymore..." he mewed raspily, head down, grief in his eyes. "Don't worry."

I stopped crying "Well, if he's happy I should stop crying. He wouldn't want us to be sad!" I said.

Stagjaw nodded. "I think..." he rasped. "I think he would like that attitude... but we will always miss him here..." He still looked sad, but less so as he looked at the kit. He sadly smiled just a little bit, just thinking about the way kits think.

"And he would also want us to stop the murderer from getting someone else so we need to go undercover to find them!" I said matter-of-factly.

The elder nodded. "Now there's an idea! What's your plan, Poppystar?" he said with a smile. He stifled a cough.
