"Yes actually you can." Theresa said, launching into her overtly polite persona. "Forgive me, but my friend over there thought he recognized you from somewhere. See we're both tourists and considering that we don't know anybody, I thought it was worth asking." This personality was a coping mechanism she had developed several years ago in high-school. When ever she was faced with the stress of social interaction, she would simply respond as polite and professional as was possible. And it worked, politeness was distancing.

Lidia:
I followed her inside and to the booth. I sat down on the other side and waited patiently. The smell of fried rice and many other Chinese foods but my nose. Ahhh. This was like heaven.

The waiter came back, ready to take our drink orders. "I would like a dr. pepper please and a plate of dumplings please." Natasha said with a soft smile and the waiter nodded his head before glancing at the other two.

"I will have a glass of water and a plate of spring rolls please." Seth said politely.

I don't know Chinese food very well so I'll just do rice))

Lidia said, “I'll have water and chicken fried rice please." Then she turned to the girl. “Well I'm staying in a beach house not to far from here. It's an all girls one. Then there's another one for the boys. Are you talking about those?"

While waiting for the drinks and the meals to arrive, Natasha sat back against the cool leather cushioned back part of the booth and glanced out the window, admiring the scene. She gazed out the window and did not realize that the food was brought to them until Seth nudged her with his foot."Hey Nat, food is ready. You okay?"He asked her, looking worried. Natasha pulled her eyes away from the window and turned to look at her friend. "Yea I am fine Seth, just a bit in a daze that is all, no big deal. I am starving lets eat." She said, avoiding the subject and took a nibble out of her dumplings before taking a swig of her soda.

Something does not seem right about Natasha... She is usually more engaging when making new friends as long as I am around... She has never been like this before.... Maybe she still misses her brother David and was just gazing out the window thinking of him... Seth thought to himself and shook his head before taking a bite out of his dumpling. "Wow these are good, the best ones I have ever had!" Seth exclaimed, a smile on his face.

Lidia:
I frown. Something was wrong about her.. I got distracted when the smell of chicken fried rice came. Oh yay! I thought happily. I took a bite. This was amazing!!! I kept on eating and finished in a few seconds. I almost burped. But I held it back. I drank some water to wash it down and leaned back satisfied.

"Yeah that is actually what I meant, what a small world. Hey do you mind if my friend and I join you?" Theresa asked, scooting a table close to the booth and motioning for Eric to come over. "When the waiter comes back over, we'll order."

Natasha tok another bite of her dumpling and she swallowed it, then took another bite. She stuffed her face and then she looked up to see Seth looking at her funny. She swallowed it and drank some of her beverage and wiped her mouth. Why is he looking at me like that? She thought to herself and shook her head and finished her last dumpling and pushed the plate away from her."Natasha are you sure you are okay? You just stuffed your face and ate all those dumplings within minutes. I thought you were going to choke..." Seth said with a frown. "I am fine Seth. They were really good dumplings anyways and I was starving as well."She said and twirled her straw and then ordered another thing of dumplings.

“Sure. If you want to." Lidia said pushing her plate away and drinking the rest of her water. “Whew! This is going to keep me full for a while." She said patting her stomach.
