{ I have, regrettably, been forced to remove Just B.E., the player of Shadowstripe, due to inactivity. The spot of Medicine Cat for StormClan is once again open.

For now, I believe we should just roleplay an NPC that will have probably died in the battle by Stormpaw or Talonstar. That way the new player has an interesting intro. If anyone is interested in this role, please PM me!(: }

Moonthroat
31 Moons
Stormclan
Warrior
Air
Mentoring Robinpaw
Crushing on Spiderfang
With Brightmoon, Fawnpaw, Crowpaw, Robinpaw, and Emberflower
At Camp, in the Warriors' Den

      It seemed that most of the Rebels obediently broke away from their collective fighting at their Leader's orders, and Moonthroat saw little opportunity to once again sink her claws into flesh. She was fine with that, of course. It was less work for her, and her muscles ached from the exertion. She hadn't realized how tired she was until now, but she had fought hard, and was more than ready to take a well-deserved rest. Then again, just because there was no fighting didn't mean that her help wasn't needed. Moonthroat had relatively minor injuries, and it was her duty to assist those who couldn't walk.
      That was when her golden eyes fell upon a fellow warrior, a she-cat that she had quite a bit of history with. Moonthroat narrowed her eyes in distaste as she watched a large, white-furred tom disappear out of view, leaving behind a very familiar shape.
      "Oh, gosh. Emberflower. Can somebody...?"
      All rivalry aside, Emberflower was motionless in the dirt, and it looked like she could use a paw, but Moonthroat was not eager to be the one to lend it. As she glanced around, searching for someone to take care of it, she realized that out of her present company, she was the only one qualified to do such heavy lifting.
      "...I swear, if she wakes up in the middle of this...", she grumbled, already picturing the sting of a sharp cuff to the head, should Emberflower awaken to find herself being carried by Moonthroat, of all cats.
      Yet, she set out, calling a quick, "I'm gonna... Do stuff.", over her shoulder.
      It was only as she got closer that Moonthroat noticed the heavy stench of blood that surrounded the cat who was once her friend, and she recoiled in shock when she realized that the ground was littered with the limp bodies of Emberflower's siblings.
      "Oh, no..."
      Moonthroat bounded over to Emberflower, hastily shoving her onto her side with a paw as she bent down, placing her ear close to the tortoiseshell's chest, only to breathe a sigh of relief to find that at least this cat was living. Moonthroat would have checked the others, too, but she had not seen any of them move, so they were more likely dead. She knew she could only carry one cat at a time, and there was no point to waste time with that. She would go back to check them all afterwards.
      For now, Moonthroat clasped Emberflower's scruff between her jaws, and set to work, hoisting the she-cat's forequarters as high as she could to keep her from dragging along more than she had to. Unlike Tawnypaw, Emberflower was too large to be carried, and Moonthroat was forced to drag her.
      It was then that her determination morphed into an impish smirk and Moonthroat lowered her head again. Emberflower was passed out. She'd never know who let her bump along the ground, right? Besides, she should be thankful that Moonthroat was saving her tail after everything. Moonthroat's expression softened as she walked and remembered those good times, before her parents died. Now, Emberflower was in the same position, and Moonthroat could not help but pity her and grow nostalgic for those old days. Maybe it was time to swallow her pride and reach out to her... After she finished dragging Emberflower through the dust, anyways.
      They were already halfway to the Medicine Cat's den, where Moonthroat planned to deposit her load.

    SOOTWHISKER
    rebels - 27 moons - warrior - mood: annoyed, increasingly angry - crushless - tagged: no one
    There was one emotion that could describe how Sootwhisker felt at that moment, he was becoming increasingly irritated. The anger was alive, it pulsed underneath his skin, ticking like a time bomb-poised to explode at any given moment. They had left him, and his clan-mates knew that if there was any cat who had been ready to fight it was Sootwhisker. Now, because he had slept late they had gone and already ambushed the weak Stormclan, the mere thought of them fighting caused Sootwhisker to growl. A dissatisfied hiss left his muzzle as he paced back-and-forth at the camp entrance, tail lashing side-to-side as he did so. The tom was unsure what he would do when they finally arrived; he wasn't worried about losing anyone because he knew they would die for a cause. He knew that he would not face Talonstar, just the thought of raising a claw to even touch his leader brought him discomfort. It felt wrong to want to hurt someone who had really did nothing to him, it was his own fault that he had been left, he spent to much time training at night.

    Sootwhisker dug his ivory, curved claws into the soft dirt beneath his paws, he need to do something or he would release his anger on the wrong cat. He did not favor getting into any unneeded fights; it would only make Talonstar trust him even less. He could not afford that, it would ruin his plans completely. The tom let another growl escape his muzzle as his pacing grew even more frenzied, he would get like this sometimes, when he needed release and was unable to be given it. He was, after all, a very blood-thirsty, unstable cat and some of his clan-mates would never trust him. When would they get here, he wondered with an impatient lashing of the tail. The strange tom swiveled his large, triangular ears-trying to catch any unusual sounds that would signal their return.

    The freshly cleaned wound on his back continued to sting as the rebel warrior pulled himself out of the cold water. Thousands of little scars that had gone unnoticed now let themselves known as the cool air rushed at him, making all of the little cuts sting. Gritting his teeth against the pain, Palethorn sat by the water's edge, grooming out his chest fur before rising to his paws and making his way back to camp.

    He sat down next to Hawkblaze, who was sitting near the entrance to the camp. He seemed to be waiting for someone - probably Talonstar - and Palethorn joined him in his waiting. He didn't particularly like the deputy of the rebels, but that was simply because he believed himself a better candidate. Palethorn was, after all, older and probably wiser, especially in the ways of battle.

    "It's a shame we couldn't finish all of them off," he mewed to the mottled tabby. "It's been a while since I've killed." This was Palethorn's way of making small talk. Being so harsh and cruel, there was not much else he could say besides talking of battles and fighting techniques. Talking about the weather might have sufficed, but if Palethorn was going to speak with someone it would be because he wanted to and not to make awkward conversation.

    One moment, Emberflower was in front of her father, clawing at his eyes, his face and his shoulders. Next, he was behind her, grabbing her tail in his jaws and causing her to shriek in pain. A spark went off involuntarily and she could smell burnt whiskers in the air. Palethorn brought his paw up to his snout in order to put the flames out and that one moment of distraction was all the tortoiseshell she-cat needed. She drove her sharp claws into his back, plunging them past his white fur into his flesh. The blood stained his white pelt and a smile split her maw when she spied the fear in his eyes.

    Then, teeth were being buried into her scruff and she was thrown across the camp with the words, "Be gone, little flower!" resounding in her head. Hitting the ground hard, Emberflower felt her head spin, her body stinging and aching from the impact. Dizzy and disoriented, she attempted to spot her father so she could finish their fight, but all she saw of him was the tip of his tail as he ran away from the camp. "Coward!" she spit. "This isn't over."

    Climbing unsteadily to her paws, she found she was unable to stand because of the pain in her head. Falling back over, Emberflower lay on the ground, breathing hard as the rebels retreated around her. Her vision was slowly beginning to fade, the world before her turning black, but the last thing she saw were faces peering out at her from the warriors' den. Raising her amber eyes to the white cat standing in the entrance of the den, Emberflower's head rolled back and her sight became unfocussed. The identity of the cat remained unknown to her as she slid into darkness.

    {{. Sorry, guys ^^' Writer's Block kills. I'm going to try to get up a post at a time and have them all finished as soon as I can. I'll just keep adding them on here c: My apologies to anyone I'm holding up!

Smallfoot's reaction to his attacks merited a great sigh of relief on his part, not out of pride or triumph, but out of thankfulness. Her "retreat" of sorts had bought Spiderfang and himself time and allowed for better coordination of their attacks, and Smallfoot's sudden preoccupation with Talonstar's safety allowed him to launch a series of attacks at his shadowy opponent that would hopefully drive her away. Poor she-cat, he mused; it was evident in her desperate cry and valiant attempt to protect her brother that the rebel leader's approval meant near everything to her. Unfortunately, it was unlikely that he would ever truly appreciate her loyalty. Brackenstrike didn't have to be on their side to see that Smallfoot was a warrior any clan would be honored to have.

Talonstar's order revitalized Brackenstrike's strength and the brown tabby tom wasted no time in dropping the offensive and rushing to Spiderfang's side. The warrior seemed to be having a difficult time standing, and his burns looked painful. The adrenaline would wear off soon, and the tabby warrior pitied his friend already. "Spiderfang, are you all right? Come on; we've got to get you to the medicine cat," he told him, pressing his shoulder into Spiderfang's so that the tom wouldn't waste so much energy holding himself up. Slowly he became aware of his own pain, recognizing that not all of his wounds had fully dried and that his later struggle with Smallfoot hadn't helped with his injuries.

Brackenstrike heard Hawkblaze's bitter snarl just faintly, barely able to comprehend the final blast of fire before it happened. As a last-ditch effort, he threw up a wall of rock in an attempt to block it, but the resulting collision still blew him several tail-lengths backwards. He grated his teeth, watching the deputy carefully, before returning to his friend's side and continuing his search for the medicine cat.

Mintpaw's blue eyes brightened in awe at how brilliantly his attack grew when Blazerunner combined it with her own. He was certainly lucky to have such a wise cat for his mentor; her tactical fighting was something he'd certainly be paying attention to during training, though granted he hadn't had much of an opportunity to recognize that in the first place. As he focused back on the task at hand, he watched a couple attacks intercept theirs and protect the black tom from their full force. Hissing in frustration, Mintpaw decided to wait for a moment and watch his mentor's signals before attacking again.

"Just fine, thanks!" Mintpaw responded, mouth forming into a mischievous grin. "Hopefully this won't last much longer." He saw Talonstar smile (wickedly, in his opinion) at his leader, then run the opposite direction; that had been relatively unexpected. Hoping for a retreat but unable to forget the look in the rebel leader's eye, the white apprentice was cautious to keep his guard up until Talonstar had voiced the command himself.

"Retreat, Rebels of Dapplefoot. Find our home and go find Smokestreak!" At last, Mintpaw breathed, eyes shining as he watched the rebels slowly exit the camp. The apprentice had managed to get out of the battle relatively unharmed, though his sleek white fur made any wounds worse than they truly were. He almost felt guilty — had he not done enough? Granted, he had tried, but there was kind of the issue of his attacking only those more experience than he and necessitating the help of others. Fearing that he might be confused for one in need of medical attention due to the appearance of his coat, Mintpaw decided to stick around for a couple moments to see if his help was needed and then head for a river or pond to wash the blood away.

╔══════════════════╗

╚══════════════════╝

The young apprentice turned to help his mentor, claws unsheathed and ready for battle, only to be stopped in horror and grief. No! His beloved mentor lay unmoving, blood pooling out around her, back singed from the rebel apprentice's fiery attack. How long had it taken to kill her? Hadn't he only been preoccupied for a few moments? Tawnypaw trembled for a moment, fire igniting at his paws, before he allowed his anger to overtake him and threw himself at the rebel apprentice.

He struck out first with his right paw, following it up with his left and aiming for the apprentice's near shoulder. He lunged forward to bite her roughly, back legs kicking out at her body in hopes to unbalance and further weaken her. Fire sparked in his mouth and he made no move to control his powers; his mentor was dead, and he could care less if he burned himself. This she-cat deserved to know what it was like to feel pain.

Tawnypaw's eyes suddenly shot open and he stumbled backwards, frightened by how angry he had become. That wasn't like him at all . . . was it? He looked forward, squinting his eyes to try to make out the shape of his opponent. Was she wounded? Had he killed her? As of yet, he couldn't tell. From the corner of his eye, he saw the rebel leader looking for something. He looked desperate and rather irrational, and Tawnypaw suddenly felt he ought to leave — now. He couldn't leave his mentor behind, though. She deserved a proper funeral. Heart heavy and still pounding from the adrenaline, he walked over to his mentor and grabbed her by the scruff, struggling to pull her body towards camp without further harming her. With his limited amount of strength, he could only move rather slowly.

╔══════════════════╗

ᴄʀᴏᴡᴘᴀᴡ

╚══════════════════╝

The dark apprentice breathed easier as Fawnpaw allowed more of her weight to fall on him; he didn't mind, and at least she wouldn't exhaust herself so quickly lest she suddenly need all of her strength. He didn't quite trust the rebels to retreat as Talonstar had ordered. For all he knew, that could be a battle plan to leave the clan cats more vulnerable, thinking the war was over. No, he couldn't trust the rebels for a second.

At Brightmoon's command, he nodded, careful that Fawnpaw would be all right after he left. Her light smile and "Hurry…" convinced him, and with a flick of his tail, he ran out of the den, slipping into the shadows to maximize his speed — no one could hold him up if no one could see him. Only his eyes remained visible, and to compensate he closed them as near as he could without limiting his visibility. If any rebels remained to fight, he'd be able to slip by unnoticed.

It took a moment, but Crowpaw was soon able to catch the scent of his medicine cat and littermate, though he still had to travel a few fox-lengths before he saw them. And a sight it was: their medicine cat lay dead, eyes freshly glazed over, while Tawnypaw was desperately struggling with his late mentor's body in an attempt to move it back towards the camp. "Tawnypaw! Let me help you," Crowpaw said softly, not wanting to frighten the medicine cat apprentice — or, the medicine cat, now. Tawnypaw looked up and nodded, eyes still wide, and Crowpaw carefully lifted the former medicine cat's body onto his shoulders, staggering under the weight and his fatigue. Looking back once to see if any rebels were nearby, Crowpaw carried the body solemnly into the camp and assumed his littermate would be right behind him.

      Robinpaw

_______________
||age: eight moons
||currently: battling
||health: 70%
||words: 420
||tags: Brightmoon,
Moonthroat, Fawnpaw, Crowpaw,
unnamed rebel
_______________
      Robinpaw looked at Brightmoon curiously at her polite rejection of the poppy seeds, but the apprentice understood the older warrior's reluctance; falling asleep in the middle of battle was practically unheard of, and the apprentice was fairly sure it wouldn't be regarded at with a positive light. Even so, she hoped that the pain wasn't unbearable for Brightmoon, and she wished she knew how to relocate limbs; but that was the job for Shadowstripe and Tawnypaw, the medicine cats. She made a mental note to alert one or the other about Brightmoon's predicament after the battle.

      She was unwilling to leave the warrior behind, but her waiting paid off, as Moonthroat soon emerged into the warriors' den as well much to her delight. Greatly relieved that her mentor was alright, Robinpaw butted her head against her teacher's shoulder in a wordless greeting.

      Robinpaw peered out of the den, claws unsheathed in case a rebel happened to come along, but it seemed that the battle was slowing as more and more rebels fled StormClan's warriors in a flurry of snarls and wails. Soon Fawnpaw and Crowpaw also approached the den, further justifying the certainty of the ambush starting to skid to a stop. Just as Robinpaw was about to relax her senses, however, the warrior Emberflower suddenly stumbled into view and collapsed into an unconscious heap some fox-lengths outside of the warriors' den. She watched apprehensively when Moonthroat darted out to rescue the fallen warrior, and as Emberflower was dragged into the increasingly-crowded den, Robinpaw moved a few uncertain paces outside of the entrance, knowing that somebody would have to guard.

      She had barely recollected her battle skills training when a flash of pain burst through her shoulder as claws glanced through her flesh. The suddenness of it nearly knocked her to the ground, further aggravating her still-pounding head, but she leaped up just in time to rake her own talons through her attacker's flank. It turned out to be naught but a cat scarcely her own age, and he fled at the first nip of her claws. However, as Robinpaw watched the rebel flee, she felt a prickle of sadness rise in her gut. Was this what they were doomed with? Endless fights and skirmishes with cats truly not all that different from themselves?

      She shook off these thoughts reluctantly and returned to the task at hand, but it seemed that there were no more rebels around. All the same, she felt uneasy, and kept her fangs at the ready.

He called as he saw a few cats attempt to stop them from leaving but at his command they stepped back. No, the first thought that came to his mind as he saw the tabby. As the camp quickly clear he slowly padded over to the body as if they were the only two things in the world. "Redleaf." He yowled attempting to wake up the she-cat even though he, deep down, knew that his best friend and deputy had already completed the trip to StarClan and not in the way of a medicine cat.

            He knew he had to stay strong, for his clan, for the cats that needed him. He grabbed the now cold body by the scruff and dragged it to the centre of the clearing seeing that his clan mates had started doing the same.

            As she focused on the medicine cat her shadow disappeared, she didn't have enough control to keep it going while holding onto the medicine cat. He was surprised at the strength of the medicine cat as she managed to get Stormpaw off. She instantly got into a fighting position as the medicine cat turned on her. She jumped forward claws outstretched but compared to the larger medicine cat both knew it would have to be Stormpaw's training or she would lose. "No." She growled as Talonstar called the retreat, she would kill this medicine cat and her apprentice before she would step foot out of the camp.

            She felt the medicine cats claws sinking into her pelt as the medicine cat threw her against the stone. She attempted to stand up again and stumbled a few steps forward before collapsing, the black that had been at the edge of her mind had completely overtaken as she fainted.
