A freebie is a pet or an item which you don't have to give anything back for, a gift basically.
If you draw you're art on Oekaki then you should be able to upload it straight from Oekaki. If you use anything else, you need to get either deviantART, Tumblr. or Imgur(not reccommended) before uploading it, you then go to one of the art forums - the one that suits what you want best - and using the BBCode you can put it in a post.

Messaging should be unlocked for you. After you do your first post, it gets unlocked last time I checked.

To answer your other questions: CS doesn't require currency of any source. We do have chicken smoothie dollars (C$) that you can use to buy items and pets from the store. You get C$ from other members who are able to buy C$ with real money.

Pets here do not need views. They will gradually grow over the month into different stages.

Why should you be able to adopt a newbie?: I don't quite know what to write here, but I think basically because I believe that I meet all the requirements and I generally like helping people find their way around CS.
Why do you want to?: As I said before, I really like helping people and I think this is just the right place to do so.
Do you have basic knowledge of rarities?: Yes. I might not be the best with huge quantity trades or all the different gaps within the rares list, but I'm gradually getting better at these things, too.
How often do you get on CS?: Normally I'm online every day.
How long do you typically spend on CS?: Usually around three to five hours, often even longer.
Are you going to help them whenever they need it?: As long as I can, of course. And if I can't for whatever reason, I will definitely help them searching for someone who can.

No you don't. They are virtual pets that live without anything . Nor you do any other of those things.
