Jake

I wandered through a familiar street, taking everything in. Everything I had known from my childhood had been destroyed, overgrown by vines, or set on fire. Then I came to an old worn house, and went inside. I looked on the ground, at the skeletons of what had once been my parents. I went up the stairs and looked at my old room, withered and torn, and fell to my knees and let sadness overcomeme.

Ashley.
Ashley froze, looking around Jake's room. She bent down beside him and put an arm around him, murmering softly. "It's okay.."

Jake

"No.. It never will be, and I can't change that." I sighed. "I have to move on."

Ashley.
Ashley sighed. "I'm sorry for your loss.."

Jake

I stared for a moment at nothing in particular before getting up. I silently left the bedroom and went outside, slowing my pace so Ashley could keep up.

Ashley.
Ashley sighed, looking around the room. She then went after him, walking beside him silently.

Jake

I looked at the toy in my hand. It was a small action figure from my childhood. I sighed, and put it in my pocket. At least I could keep one artifact.

Ashley looked at Jake, remaining silent.

Jake

I sighed. "Alright. Let's go." I led her to the spot I recognized most, where Jonathon and A had chased Angel and I down the street, and Angel had been shot. I had been shot as well. I imagined it happening again and again over the sidewalk.

Ashley walked beside Jake, nodding. "Alright." She studied the side walk carefully, then looked up at the street.
