When you get a heater, make sure you get the right 'size' one(usually says on the package to how big tank it's designed). If you get too strong one, you could easily turn your tank into fish soup... And then again if it's not strong enough it'll use more power as it's on most of the time.
I don't know how others have their heaters set, but mine I have to adjust to only about 21,5C to keep my tank at steady 25,5C. At first I set the heater to 25 and next morning it was still heating the water, even though the water temp was like 27C according to the thermometer. >_< So thermometer is needed to make sure your tank stays cool/warm enough.
Can we pretend that the airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now...

I will never again buy a heater without a temperature control knob on it. It's completely worth it and they're not that much more expensive anyways. That being said, there is still appropriate "sizes" on heaters with temp control knobs. Get one that's meant for how many gallons you have. ^^

does anyone know what to feed tadpoles? We had some in our pond last year and they came back again.(Either that or it's the ones we got four years ago and raised countinualsy breeding in our pond.) Unfortanatly I do remember that I fed them lettucace but I can't remember if there was anything speical that needed done to it first. Also how do I keep the letuce from blowing away or getting eaten becuase I have a dog that is willing to eat anything at least once before deciding weather or not she will leave it be and the one week that the weatherman predicted light thunderstoms that would fade over time they became severe (Their definition of severe is hail 1 inch in diamiter.) and we keep having worse and worse weather every day.
If I'm not answering, I'm probably at work. I usually get on in the late evening my time (listed timezone below)

Pronouns are they/them and you can call me Starfalling, M, or Morgan. I'm in Pennsylvania which is on EST (CStime -4)

I love trading, although I'm recently back from a long hiatus so I'm not fully up to date on demand. For any current event pets, I’ll only trade them away if I have a double, and I don't trade growing pets Real life got hectic and I somehow missed the whole month of May on here. Looking for all May pets, will keep WL updated as I go

I use bold a lot because it's easier for me to read, since you can't change other people's font size and being zoomed in constantly is annoying

I am a holibomber!
Sig was getting long, my counts have been moved to trade rules

If the weather is bad,I suggest catching them and placing them in a large tank or large bowl.If you do this you may want to put gravel, plantlife and a few large stones.Try to keep 5 to 10 in 1L of water. If you keep them inside, try using their pong water or bottled/distilled water. If you use tap water, let it sit, uncovered, for 24 hours. When changing the water, try to change only half of it.To feed them, boil lettuce for 10 to 15 mins. When its leaves are soft and squishy, drain it and cut it into small pieces.Feed them a pinch of it everyday.Don't use fish food. When the tadpoles get legs, make sure they have some dirt they can crawl onto or they will drown.DO not feed them when they have grown arms.

Keep in note that dead tadpoles look gray,
Do not get any soap, sunscreen, etc in the tank.
Don't put them in direct sunlight.
Make sure to check your law in your area before you catch and release frogs/tadpoles.

I expect you pond is a permanent from breeding society.

I hope that helps!
:)

I have noticed that people leave this part out a lot of times. Tadpoles, when they are a little older and starting to form their back legs, are carnivorous and cannibalistic. So if you see the tadpoles kill another don't feel bad about it. It is how nature works and they never eat all of themselves.

on another note: we need to start an amphibian thread lol.

I can't put the tadpoles in a tank because I don't have any tanks that are clean. (I need to wait until next month so I can do a major cleaning of all my extra tanks.) Also thanks for the help with the food part of my question.

My oldest cory has been swimming around upside down and just lying upside down in the plants and in the corners.
I think he's dead, but then he starts breathing and when I move something, he zips around the tank.
Think he might be dying though.. :'(
