Maleficent

She eventually came to the wall of thorns, and through a hole she could see the girl. "Well, she's alive." She tilted her head, watching Aurora as she examined the wall. "Curious little beasty." She murmured, moving closer.

Diaval looked at Aurora from behind Maleficent. "She is still just a teenager." He said. "They are curious, wishing to know more and see more." He said. "They lack the knowledge we do."

Aurora

A smile played on the young girl's face as she hefted herself on the thorny wall. Aurora gripped a spiky green rod with all her might as she started to climb. There was a small opening where she saw more thorns. Her brow furrowed and she leaned forward to get a better look. There had to be more than just thorns here. She leaned in just a little more and her grip slipped. A small cry escaped her lips and she shut her eyes tight, awaiting the pain of impact.

Maleficent

She waited until the last moment, and when Aurora was only inches from the ground, she flicked her wrist and caught the girl in midair with her magic. She tilted her until she was straight and set her back down again gently.

Diaval/Current Form: Human
Diaval, who had tensed up, relaxed once more. Maleficent had placed a powerful curse on the girl. He should have known she would not let Aurora die just like that. After all, Maleficent had saved her quite a few times in the past. Why not know?

Aurora

Aurora wasn't expecting the feel of the sturdy ground at her feet. She opened her eyes wide and looked around for a moment. She sucked in her lower lip before taking a deep breath. She was safe once more. But she knew this was no accident. Something was watching out for her. Or rather someone was watching out for her. "Hello?" she said softly as she looked around.

Diaval/Current Form: Human
Diaval stayed silent. He simply stood in the shadows behind Maleficent, watching Aurora. He would not act until ordered to. That was what he had learned to do ever since he started serving Maleficent.

Maleficent

She spared a glance over at Diaval. She had never revealed herself to Aurora, and she wasn't planning on it, not while the soldiers were nearby. She could have taken them, obviously. But she had literally just dealt with them, so she wasn't in the mood. With a wave of her hand, she turned Diaval back into a raven, tilting her head in Aurora's direction. She made her orders clear: Distract her.

Diaval/Current Form: Human
Diaval nodded, understanding. He flew out and circled about Aurora's head to get her attention. He knew Maleficent would need the girl distracted. That and he had to follow her orders whether he wanted to or not.

Aurora

Above her head she heard the quiet shrill of a crow. Her head jolted up as her eyes met that of a sleek black crow. A smile broke on her face as she stared for a moment. She spoke to the bird as if it could understand her. "Hello pretty bird. What are you doing out here?" Her eyes were fully trained on the avian and her mind began to drift about her near death experience.
