How many tanks do you have: 1 (glass fish bowl)
Type of fish that you have: Betta
Your fish's names: Norman the Third
How long have you had fish: 3 days :3
I would love to post a pic but I can not take any pictures seeing as my phone quit working :(

You're going to want to upgrade. :) Bowls are not suitible for fish. A plastic storage tote can be bought very cheaply ($5-$10) and work as a temp tank for a while.

Betta need heated/filtered water and atleast a 2.5 gallon. <3
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

What would be the best type of filter for fancy goldies?
My favourite is the Interpet power filter, but I don't know if it'd be suilable for pealscales/bubbleeyes.

Depends on the tank size. I use an Aqueon 40-60 Power Filter for my 55 gallon and it does very well. I had been using a Tetra 50-70 filter but it died very quickly.
Reality is subjective.

I do have a big tank that I can bring to my room. but I need to clean it out good. I was told that he should not need heat/filtering in a smaller tank... but I have a filter anyway, so I will use it. I was also told that if I am using well water I need a solution to put in the water to take harmful stuff out of the water

Pretty much all aquatic critters need some sort of filter and as bettas are very tropical fish he definitely needs a heater. Filters are even more important in such tiny spaces as waste builds up very quickly in small volumes of water. Whoever told you that he doesn't need a filter/heater and is fine in a bowl doesn't know what they're talking about unfortunately :c
Move him to the bigger tank as soon as possible c:
