Oekaki/Java problems & solutions

`I recently discovered that for the mac freezing issue, at least for me, is it only freezes when the 'JTablet may crash' comes up and I've clicked the red x thingy. It took at least a minute for it to come previously, and before it did I could move around the boxes but it was extremely laggy, then when the box came up and I closed it that's when it froze.

Is there any way to remove the J Tablet for the mac?

With the new update, every single time I post a new oekaki picture a message pops up that says this:

Security Warning - Allow access to the following application from this web site?

I have never before gotten this error message, and now it comes up every stinking time I post something on Oekaki! I can click "Allow" and it goes away, sure, but it doesn't STAY away.

Any suggestions on how to keep this error message from popping up?

That's not really an error. Since Nick fixed the security settings error, this is the only message that may pop up. Although if you choose allow, it should stay away after that. Restart your browser, see if that helps.

Has anyone been able to fix this problem?

When ever I click on new drawing it will load for ever. The site page freezes and I can't close the tab or reload it. I have to restart my computer.... And it still doesnt work when I try it again :C I had the same problem when oekaki wasn't updated to fix the problems but was able to fix it by adding Chicken smoothie to my site exceptions, requiring java console to be shown when loading, resetting security settings, clearing java console, and/or restarting computer (I know some of these solutions are weird but they worked) but now none of those solutions are working.. My java is newest version. Ideas?

Does it do this on every browser or one browser specifically?

The JTablet site has uninstall info. Just scroll down a bit.

By the way, if any of you use Google Chrome and are getting an responsive page when loading the Oekaki, please make sure you're using the latest update of Chrome! You can check that by clicking on the settings button and then About Google Chrome, and that ought to show you if you're using the latest version or not. The Oekaki runs perfectly for me with the latest Chrome.

After the update, did you relaunch your browser?

I'll try tonight to reproduce the problem and see if I can find a fix, but since this only works on Chrome, a cheap temporary solution would be to use another browser for art until this gets solved.

Go to system preferences

Click Security and privacy

On the bottom left hand corner there is a lock symbol. Click it and put in your password.

Now go to the general tab and look towards the bottom

It should say "allow applications to download from:"

click the circle that says "anywhere"

That should fix it! c:
