They have no nose or mouth and acquire their energy from their gems that absorb energy from sunlight. They also talk through their gems and because of this they can only communicate with creatures that wear or have gems. They can use the magic in their gem to levitate small objects and locate other gems as well.

His Mother gave him the name "George" before she died, but in the orphanage they called him "Tiny", due to his skinny frame. After he escaped into the forest the animals called him "Wild". He kept the name.

Warning: Dark Back-story! (Well, in some parts.)
After his Father escaped with a famous adventurer, having a romance with her, he left Wild's Mother in a tough situation. She died at childbirth. Wild ended up in an orphanage. Life wasn't bad there, he was teased but loved and fed. One day, when he was seven, Syrup and Icing adopted him. He was, again, loved, but his new parents hated animals. Wild, who loved animals as they were his only friends, smuggled a butterfly into his room. After Icing discovered it, the insect was squashed. Wild escaped the house, and hid in a forest far away. He befriended the creatures there, and life seemed perfect. Not. For. Long. As a wildfire swept the beautiful woods, Wild risked his life to help a fawn get out of the deadly flames. He god burnt and scolded very badly, making it out half-alive. He blacked out, and woke up in a hospital, bandaged and seen to. The parts under his bandages were red-pink, blistered and bare, so he never really wanted to take his bandages off to see what has become of him. The doctors insured that a slightest touch would make him wince with pain anyway, if he took them off. Wild returned to the Black Forest, and lived there for a while, before meeting a group of young Felines who were intent on saving endangered species, stopping wildfires, ect. He joined them, becoming a nature protector, and made many speeches about wildfires and how dangerous they are. His bandages are a constant remainder to his listeners.
so here is a quick little design, just tell my the reason for his/her bandages.
