Think my all time shock breed that I saw advertised was a Poodle x GSD I was like what the Hades are you people playing at I did not see the point. Wish I still had the ad it was amazing how honest they were with the fact that it was to see what they made.

That's mad.

I still cannot come to terms with a Pomsky. How does that even work??

Dixie is doing a lot better and has calmed down since the incident a couple days ago. I took Sara's and Link's advice and took her out back later to play -just me and her- and try to loosen up. I'm still irritated about that pit's owner though. The dog was loose again this morning and in our front yard. Luckily, our dogs were all inside.

Anyway, thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement. I was really upset and just feeling angry and shaken. I was mostly afraid of what might have happened had I not been able to hold onto her, and that all our hard work might have just all gone down the drain.

Also, going to say that just because you believe your one dog inherited the best of both breeds doesn't mean that's a common thing. I would even go so far as to say that's fairly rare. Having a cross breed myself, I think it's fair enough to say her traits are well mixed and she inherited both faults and perks of both breeds. Some of the traits are borderline and shared between the breeds so can't be differentiated and some are easily different. Also, just because a certain medical problem hasn't cropped yet doesn't mean it ever will.

Fact of the matter is that unless the people are health testing, titling/working and doing everything else they would be a purebred, they're just in it for the money and it's not okay. Period. End of story. The only "designer breed" I currently support are Silken Windhounds. They're meant to look like smaller borzoi but they've made sure to retain their prey drive. My favorite breeder has gone above and beyond what I would expect of most breeders and has set the bar really high imho.

Normally they are actually pom/american eskimo or pom/alaskian klee kai mixes.

I've not heard of Comfort Retrievers, but I must say it sounds ridiculous.

I am actually sometimes embarrassed I have a designer breed but hey, judge each dog on its own merit, I guess.

Anyways, don't fret too much! Potentially, yes, you might have taken a slight step back, however you definitely haven't lost all the hard work you've done with her training. That is the problem with having a reactive dog is that they'll never be truly "fixed" (for lack of a better word) of their issues. But so long as you keep a positive attitude and don't let up with her training, she will continue to improve <3

Just let us with aggressive-reactive dogs know if you need any help x3

Can you call AC on the pit's owner? Seriously, that guy really needs to keep his dog on a leash or control it. I can definitely understand why you'd be so upset.

Yesterday, me and my best friend walked Wolfgang all the way to my aunt and uncle's house. He got to play with their dogs (a Flat-Coat mix, a Boxer, and a Golden) and he kept pawing at the pool to get in, but he waS too scared because he couldn't see the bottom lol. We tried to help him in, but I'm sure he will figure it out eventually.
Then, we walked from there to the park and he got to meet a male Golden and was very good He is able to be off leash there (I leash him if another dog comes in I case that dog isn't friendly though) and his recall is more amazing than I could have imagined it being.
Then, we walked from there to my grandparents', so he could say hi to Tipper and Addie. Addie came up to my best friend and hit her Gatorade with her nose while she was drinking it and made it go up her nose xDD
Then, we walked home. Wolfgang does so well with not reacting to dogs who are going insane at fences or about to run across a street at him (since the idiots in my neighborhood feel it is fine to not have a fence or the out for their dogs in a lot of cases). He's very easy to control and I am so grateful for that. <3 Love my boy

Kill shelters make me want to just cry. I seriously think we should just euthanize bad owners who give their dogs to shelters and bad breeders. Then. We would have to euthanize dogs.
I swear, my Facebook page is almost nothing but me networking dogs, cats, and rabbits who are on kill lists.

She had trouble with the broom but eventually sorta got it. (Now to just teach her how to use it, I'll never have to clean again!) She doesn't like picking up the spoon but did really well with it today.

In other news for the most part I don't see a problem with people dressing up their dogs... But if someone is dressing up a dog just so it matches their shoes, when the dog hates being dressed up? I don't agree with that. However putting stuff on a dog to keep them warm or just for fun if the dog is fine with it, I don't see a problem with that.

Bella doesn't mind being dressed up, she has a snuggie which I put on her quite often when it gets cold. I don't know who decided to put a hood on it though, all it does is cover up the dog's eyes.

@Fuzzy: Unfortunately, kill shelters are a necessary evil. Without them the streets and shelters would be overrun with strays and neglected/abandoned animals of all species. You also have to remember that circumstances change and not every person can own a pet for life and sometimes giving up the animal to the shelter is the only option. I have seen people have to give up there pet(s) in less then a couple weeks which really isn't enough time to find a suitable new home. A family member dying, someone losing their job, server medical issues, etc. etc. are all things that could affect you keeping the pet, but you can not plan for when getting an animal.
Owners making the difficult decision to give their animal up for adoption are not the ones to blame here. What we need is proper education of animal care.
