Caroline shook her head. "I'm fine. I used to live somewhere when I only had a bed and trunk. Then, I shared one big closet." Caroline said, after he said it was very unfurnished. Caroline had to share a closet with all of the girls in her room, which was at least 12 other girls. Caroline suddenly saw the hoodie flying at her, and caught it. It was warm, and smelled nice. Well, nicer than dirt, that is. She blushed, because she had never worn a boy's hoodie. Even if it was only for her protection, it still made her flustered. "Uh... Okay..." She quietly said, then slipped the hoodie on. It was a lot more warm on the inside than on the inside, and Caroline hugged herself in the jacket. It was huge on her small build. It hung off of her shoulders, fell past her waist, and the sleeves hung off of her hands at least a few inches. But, it was big enough to cover up her little wings. "Thanks... It is really warm... And it smells like you..." Caroline said, smiling and still hugging herself.

HAWKE
Hawke nodded, unsure whether to laugh or ignore Caroline's comment on his hoodie smelling like him, but ended up simply being thankful that it was a semi-good thing, and that he'd bought the scented soap. He led her over to the bus. . saw the overweight driver with the American flag patched onto his wearing baseball cap. Hawke flashed his pass but the driver crossed his arms, unsatisfied. "Is the girl with you?" Hawke nodded. "Then you have to pay her fair. " Hawke groaned, assuming she had no money - which is a logical assumption, seeing as she was a runaway. "Look, I'll pay you next time around, promise. " The driver contemplated, but then allowed them both to pass. "Only you, Hawke... only you. " The man mumbled as Hawke walked to sit at his usual seat. He turned to Caroline, who looked even more petite under the too-big gray fabric. But, of course, she also looked human. Just like he did. Although his disguise was much better than hers- and much more permanent. Of course it was also.... he trailed off, wondering if she would ever find out what he really was... or if he'd ever tell her. No. She didn't need to know. To her he was just an average runway. He looked over at her, clearing his thoughts. "It's our next stop." He told her quietly.

Caroline followed him on the bus, and watched the conversation, getting the least bit heated. Caroline stuck her hand in her pocket, and grabbed the change that she had collected, and brought with her. She actually had quite a bit from all of the change she collected as a kid. You'd be surprised at how much change was dropped at the concentration camp. As they sat down, she counted change, having to constantly roll her sleeves up, so she could see what she was doing. She figured the fair would be about $5, so she took out 20 quarters, and put them in the front pocket of the hoody. Caroline nodded when Hawke told her where their stop would be, and waited until they actually got there, gently playing with the quarters in her pocket.

HAWKE
Hawke noticed Caroline paying her own fare, and instantly wondered how a runaway tendit could have collected the money. He didn't ask her though, he just sat there and stared out at the window opposite him. Even though he had no telltale twin bulge on his back, Hawke felt uncomfortably bare without his hoodie on. He wasn't used to showing his arms. His thin olive shirt had sleeves, but they were short, and offered little protection from what he assumed to be preying eyes. Both of his strong arms were covered in small, white, hairline scars. They were unnoticeable to the passing glance, and it would take a moment of studying them to notice any of them at all; of course to him though they stuck out as if each had it's own neon sign. They laced all the way up from his wrists to past his sleeves. Most were from training, and some from scuffles with other tendits (the majority of which he'd won). The others he had put there himself. He could remember the story behind each, although he normally didn't think of it too often. Regardless of the depth of the wound, most had healed to be incredibly small. Goldhawk medicine was exceptionally effective. The bus slowed to a smooth, clean stop, and to Hawke's surprise he wasn't pushed into anything or anyone. It was a record for the driver. He stood up, and waited for Caroline to stand before walking to the front of the bus. Instinctively, he looked out both Windows and eyed his surroundings thoroughly before getting off. He saw a golden SUV parked at the edge of the street and cursed. He had no reason to be afraid, he was completely past suspicion. Caroline, pn the other hand, was more of a risk. The bus driver, who had been silent turned around. "I'm no fan of 'em either pal, but don't go causing trouble. No reason for that. Those fools have been there a while. Apparently some poor couple got caught housing a tendit. Kind but stupid, eh?" Hawke nodded, not saying anything in response to the driver, letting out a small breath. He'd thought they were there for him.. it was a small relief to learn otherwise, but still unsettling neighbors had been reporting eachother. There was no other way that the couple could've been found if a neighbor had not reported them. Hawke grabbed Caroline's hand as they got off the bus, whispering into her ear as a news van drove up. "Don't talk to any of them, especially not the reporters. If they turn their cameras towards us let me know or say you don't allow any footage of you to be kept or broadcasted. It should be legally binding. " Hawke's instructions were quick and soft, as he tried not to draw attention to them. Two runaways on the news would be bad. Anyone could recognize them, and then where would they be? He planned on walking around the whole mess, giving the beesnest of people a wide birth, but the instructions were just in case.

~Caroline~
Caroline quickly handed her fair to the bus driver, and followed Hawke, stumbling over her own feet, as he took long strides to the house. Caroline worried about her own life, due o the fact that she was a runaway tendit. She caught up to Hawke when she got off the bus, and walked next to him, softly gripping his hand. When he gave her the instructions she nodded, and looked at the ground. She could see everything happening out of the corner of her eye. Then, there it was. One of the camera men were running up to them, along with a reporter. Caroline softy tapped Hawke's muscular arm, and pointed at them. She looked back down at the ground, and gripped Hawke's hand a bit tighter. Caroline was too scared that they would discover her secret and they would both be thrown in jail, and probably executed. Caroline didn't want that, and figured that Hawke didn't, either.

HAWKE
Hawke was aware of his surroundings on an accute leval. The Goldhawk's presence made every sense heighten. With one hand he held Caroline's hand, the other was slipped casually into his pocket, fingers wrapped loosely around his knife. It was a primitive weapon, but nevertheless useful. It wasn't only the presence of the Goldhawks that bothered him; it was the entire scenario. It was all wrong. It was still so sick to watch though, even from the corner of his eye. The whole scene which had played itself out in front of them. From what he could gather, he pieced together what had happened in his mind. There had been a couple, a man and woman, compassionate but somewhat careless. They had been approached by a tendit child and had taken it in. A neighbor had reported them. The Goldhawks had come to try to forcibly remove said tendit. Hawke's grip around Caroline's hand tightened as he saw the cameraman approach, reporter close in tow. He turned on the reporter angrily, but not before the reporter could ask in his breaking-news voice, "Sir! Do you have anything to say about the Milton arrest?" The Milton arrest? So the family's name was Milton.. Hawke covered the face of the camera with his hand, but took precaution not to touch the lens. "I do not." he growled, turning to the cameraman. "And, I do not allow any footage of myself or my acquaintance to be used in any matter or situation, nor do I consent to it's being stored. Any footage captured or either of us is not permitted to exist. Do you understand?" Hawke asked the last bit less like a question and more like an order. Humans had the ability to disgust him. The reporter smoothed back his greasy blond hair, trying to conceal the extent of his annoyance. He nodded and mumbled something, then ran off to bother another bystander. Hawke turned to look back at the scene, eyes widened with horror. He almost pulled Caroline further away when he saw it. The body. She couldn't have been more than twelve, more likely ten. She hung there limp between the gloved hands of two Goldhawks. If the sterile blue gloves hadn't had cued him that she was dead, it would been the blood, and the wounds. Two big ones, both, he assumed, from a ray gun. One was a wound over where her heart would be, a pool of blood stained her clothes and skin. The other was lower, at her stomach. Her entire midsection seemed drenched in blood. The liquid a dark crimson, haunting yet terribly surreal. How could someone shoot a ten-year-old... twice? They handled her like she was trash, and her body was filled with some infectious disease. Her wings dragged along the ground, bloodspattered and frayed from the melee. He couldn't tear his eyes away, and he watched them put a black bag over her body. There was a second bag, too. It was larger. He guessed at what had happened, by the sobbing widow on the driveway. His hypothesis was confirmed as he heard the blond reporter talk into a microphone. "I'm here live on the scene, and behind me are the bodies of a fugitive and a victim of trickery. You may have seen the body of the Tendit earlier, but don't be fooled by her sweet looks - Tendits have higher functioning brains, lower functioning emotions, and are taught to manipulate since they are born. What you saw wasn't an angelic little girl. It was a pretty murder machine. Unfortunately Conner Milton has died because of her, after being manipulated into defending her after Goldhawks came to arrest the rouge tendit. Details have not yet been released. More at 10:00, also coming up: Tendits Among Us; fugitives still on the loose! Are they as dangerous as they seem?." Hawke tore his eyes away, sufficiently disgusted. Goldhawk propaganda was fed into all the newsfeeds so much it wasn't even accurate anymore. Finally he saw the house. His house, for the time being. They would probably have to change location soon, but for tonight it was the closest they could come to a safehaven. He started to lead her around the back, not wanting to draw any extra attention by picking the lock on the front door.

Okay, didn't miss THAT much going on in the club... Anastasia was visiting with Espy but then left upstairs to check on Tabs and to eat. Tabs is still in the kitchen, cooking. There's a few new characters: Hawke, mine, a tendit guy who has a nasty habit of self harm and a disposition against humans... you can't ever see his wings, even if he's wearing a tight shirt it's like they're not there (reason will be revealed later). He is with Caroline, on the streets going into a vacant house he had found. Also there's the new character Sparrow, who is an escapee who got caught (by Jace and Starling). I think that sums up things.....WB!!!
