Does anyone else call anime "Japanese cartoons" when they're talking to people who don't really know what anime is? >_<

Someone described anime as "Japanese cartoons" in Teens React to Attack on Titan and someone in the comments flamed them for it. Also TEENS REACT TO FULLMETAL ALCHEMIIIIIIIIIIIST.

We should have a day where we refer to animes and mangas with their Japanese titles regardless of if they're widely-used or not. In full caps. If their Japanese titles are already in English, we could refer to them by misromanizaions instead.
...Is that a stupid idea? XP

umm. it sorta is, and most of the time animes are referred to their Japanese title more often. i don't even know chuunibyou demo koi ga shitai's english title, or puella magi madoka magica's anyway. and free!, tamako market, k-on!, dangan ronpa and alot of anime don't have alternated titles for languages.

It's starting in July, and we aren't sure how long it will be. Probably closer to the length of the first season.
