I loved it so much and then there was episode 3.... Not sure if I'm going to continue this series... I was so excited because I had finally found something that grabbed my attention. I haven't had that in a good while, but now... I'm not sure what to do with myself anymore.
Why can't I just find an anime that has a ton of action, suspense, and a kick-butt male main character? Those aren't really specific specifications, but I just can't find an anime that will hook me anymore. *sigh
Is Guardian of the Spirit no good? That got me hooked when it aired on tv. Or Blood+
Ever thought of maybe watching Yu-Gi-Oh? I never thought I would like it when I first started watching it first either. I don't play the game and I don't think I know more than the basic rules even after 200 episodes, but the characters and story somehow got to me.
The only animes with male main characters I can think about (which I didn't mention that often yet) are xxxHolic (psychological, mystery - the main character isn't strong, but the anime is interesting), Black Cat, Rainbow, Munto (though I don't know how much the anime focuses on the male lead, since I didn't watch that much yet). Sometimes I also think about trying One Piece, since my sister used to like it.
Or you read some more manga. I read more mangas with female lead and male side characters. I already mention Denpa Kyoushi again and again^^ and Keishichou Tokuhanka 007. Maybe you like Reimei no Arcana, Holyland, Destroy and Revolution, Hayabusa: Sanada Dengekichou, Cloud, Alyosha, Koe no Katachi, Ore ga Akuma de, Aitsu ga Yome de, The Sleepy Residents of Birdcage Manor, Tamago no Kimi, Nononono, Blue Ramun, Aoki Umi no Toraware Hime, Immortal Rain, Pinocchio, Shinobi Life, Hanatsukihime or Nowhere Boy for example.
To be honest, Guardian of the Spirit just hasn't hooked me yet. I've watched about half of Blood+, but it's really the female that gets the spotlight, not Haji. If he were the main one doing the fighting, I would probably be able to get behind it more, but fighting female leads just don't grab me. I watched Black Cat quite a while ago, and almost made it through Munto, but again, it's the female that gets the light, not the male. I'm following One Piece as it airs on TV.
I'll look into some of the manga on this list.
Maybe I'm just harder to please than I thought, but why can't I just find more characters like Luka, like Tatsuya from Mahouka, like Naru from Ghost Hunt, like Kougami from Psycho-Pass, like Jellal from Fairy Tail, like Kyo from Samurai Deeper Kyo, like Kazuma from Kaze no Stigma, like Hambart, Hampnie from Sunday without God, like Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin?
Edit: Watched the opening song of Rainbow, and it definitely had me intrigued. Going to check it out next and hope it goes better than Sunday without God.
I just can't find male characters that kick butt in that refined, amazing way.
