Utawarerumono, an anime I finished yesterday with a plot similar to Solatorobo's towards the end, was also originally a video game.

Sooooooooooo, as I stand here making my bold first post.

Has anyone here played the RPG game Etrian Odyssey? I can't be the only one here. It's a challenging dungeon crawler that is supposed to be like Dungeons and Dragons or Labyrinth, as you make a guild of 5 characters choosing from 8 classes, then explore a labyrinth, for what reasons vary from each game (There are 5 as of current) I can gather some QR codes from the games that I have ( EOIV and EOU) if you wish to exchange over this or PM.

It's for the DS family. Etrian Odyssey I, II, and III are for the DS, and Etrian Odyssey IV and Etrian Odyssey Untold are for the 3DS.

I will warn you- They are very, very hard. And they are made by ATLUS, so think Persona and Shin Megami Tensei and your on the right track. While the are not as dark as they are (Compared to them and the other things ATLUS has done, it's light-hearted.) they do get dark. Especially near the end.

^ Tail Concerto, the little-known precursor to Solatorobo, was also made by Atlus. In addition to having an anime opening, it has several anime cutscenes. It's also only available in three languages, from what I've seen, and the cutscenes aren't dubbed in the French version.

Actually what's funny is, as how dark the games can be, the little fandom there is for it makes them look completely innocent. I guess were good at tricking people.

Look up "FOE song" and "Female Marshmallow Yggdrasil" on Youtube and watch them. Tell me what your first impression on the EO series is after watching them
