"Great job Jacey!" Cristina said as Jacey turned around. "It looks great so far." She noticed Roxas walking over to Jacey. He sat beside her and panted. "I think he likes you." Cristina said. She knew she sounded stupid but she couldn't act like it was a big deal. It just wasn't what a leader would do.

"Thanks." I said as I finished my last bits of food off and patted Roxas on the head. "Hey there." I said as I gave him a piece of meat. I started tying more wood together, this time the wall had a small home in it, but large enough for us to climb through to get in.

Cristina liked her design but said nothing so she could continue to work in peace. What should I do now? I could train Roxas better, or maybe gather things for breakfast. No, wait. I could try and make something to keep the food cold and fresh! Cristina grabbed leaves and dipped them in the stream. She dried them to the point where they only had a little bit of moisture left and they were still cold. She wrapped a leaf around the rest of the squirrel and berries. She brought them back to camp but kept them away from the fire so it wouldn't warm up. She stuck it in the hole of a tree. She put sap on the outsides of a leaf and stuck it over the hole so no animal could get inside. If she opened it a few times a day it wouldn't dry to the point where it wouldn't open.

I finished tying the second wall, securing the vines with sap again, and hammering the logs into place. "Hey, Cristina, could you gather me a couple more vines please?" I asked over my shoulder, starting to tie the next couple of logs together. "And some sap?"

"Sure!" Cristina said as she broke open some twigs. After she collected enough sap Cristina went over to the tree she hid the food in and tore off 11 vines. She wrapped them all around her arm and brought the sap and vines back to Jacey. "Here you go! Keep up the good work!" She said as Roxas wandered off into the forest. It was almost pitch black and she didn't want to lose him. She ran past a few trees. "Roxas! Come back!" She saw 2 pairs of beady eyes staring at her. It was a raccoon. Suddenly she heard a whimper and the raccoon disappeared. She quickly hid behind the tree, gasping for air when she saw Roxas walk up to her with the raccoon in his mouth. She sighed. "Don't frighten me like that again!" She whispered loudly. They walked back to the camp and slept on the floor. She knew Roxas would alert them if an animal decided to attack them. They were ready.

"Thanks." I mumbled as she laid down along with everyone else, working to finish the second wall. As soon as that one was done, I hammered it together and worked on the third wall. I heard something rustling and my head snapped up. "Guys," I whispered when I heard it again, but louder. "Guys!" I shouted when a human figure came out of the foliage. I grabbed my hammer and held it as a weapon. "Don't step closer!" I yelled.

Trees, trees, trees. Sunlight filtered through thick overhead branches, and the occasional flustered group of birds clattered their way across the canopy. Daph's ear-to-ear grin faded as he looked back to the ground and realized he'd walked a bit far from the group. Foliage and various grungy beings wormed around under his bare feet; looking backward, he spotted the faint trail he'd made into the forest: broken twigs, footprints in the dirt. He followed this trail back to a clearer edge of the forest, and eventually, he found his partners.
Most seemed situated around a fire, next to which sat a small pile of fruit. The charred body of what looked like a rabbit lay nearby. Daph sat cris-crossed at one edge of the group, and ran a hand through his hair before reaching for a handful of the berries someone had collected.
Halfway through his mouthful of food, a warning was shouted, and Daph's head twitched up.

Cristina woke up and saw a human in the distance. She got up with her handmade knife and shoved Roxas with her foot. Roxas quickly got up and growled. "We have weapons don't come closer!" She shouted. She was nervous but didn't show it. A leader needed to be fierce in a situation like this.

"Where's daph?" I whispered to Cristina.
