I agree with this, though it's true that many anime based on video games aren't that great.
Rather than large, structural-type things, I think it would be better to do conceptual things, like the first bullet and last bullet. Maybe something more along the lines of:
~ How to be a proper "damsel in distress."
~ How to create a sweet love story.
~ How to die in an epic, heart-wrenching way.
Because it the
characters of the show that will learn these concepts. It has absolutely nothing to do with the animators/storywriters.
