Bird grazed on the fresh, green blades of grass, her tail flicking to swat away the pesky flies but at the same time spreading her scent. She lifted her head and looked around, cautiously. The flaxen mare gave a low nicker to herself, before heading towards the river. Seeing no other horses there yet, she relaxed and let the water touch her hooves as she took a sip. Her ears perked up as she finished drinking and being the careful mare she was, she looked around the landscape once again.

oak saw the stallion coming for her and she stayed where she was, calmly continuing to munch on the grass. she was a cunning one; someone that knew how to get out of situations like this. she could tell by his stance that he wasn't happy, and by his scent that he already had a few mares - he was greedy and grumpy. oak hid a frown on her face as she waited for him to arrive.

red loosened her muscles as the new addition to the herd made no move to challenge her. she flicked her scentless tail, nosing her belly gently before dropping her head to tug at the grass shoots beneath her feet. red skies was soon bored of this, leaving the others to have a small canter.

Ridley's ears pricked forward, watching Red Skies canter away from them. He kept an eye on her, making sure another stallion wouldn't come up and snatch her away. Nearing Zaria, he bumped his muzzle against her flank as to ask her for permission to cover her.

mouse stood in the shadows and protection of a large tree, sheltering her from the sun. she rubbed her short neck across the bark, eyes closed in content as she continued to scratch herself absent-mindedly. however, her heat scent itched at her rump, making her more uncomfortable than before. the last thing she wanted to do was give off her scent, so she wedged herself between the big tree beside her and a few bushes, ears swiveling as she listened. open

the chestnut mare loosened her strides, shaking her short mane. she saw ridley asking to cover his new mare out of the corner of her warm brown eye. she turned away, pulling her head back down to the ground to graze. she couldn't help but feel excited to have this foal, yet at the same time, she feared for its safety. red was a lucky foal, being born in the early days of spring. what if her foal was born in the middle of winter? would it survive? she shook her head to rid herself of the thoughts.

charm couldn't find the mare any longer. despite lifting his head to the sky, her scent was gone. he snorted, turning back to his two dappled grey mares. the stallion knew that whisper's heat scent was at it's strongest point now, and if he left it any later, she would be out of it. charm nosed her rump affectionately, asking to cover whispering winds.

Whisper looks back at luck charm when he nosed her rump. She knew he was asking for a foal. Whisper nickers softly telling him she accepts his covering offer/asking. She turns her head back around nibbling on grass.

Raven walked slowly through the meadow, keeping her ears perked to see is any mares would reply to Kodak. Her gaze fell on the river as it came into sight. She approached the water and dipped her muzzle into it, taking a few gulps. She lifted her head and looked around, giving a low nicker for any mares nearby.

Bird Song flipped her flaxen mane to the other side as she splashed through the river and over to the other side. Her tail swished from side to side in boredom. She snorted and pawed the ground for a moment, before settling down to graze a little more. Bird took a few steps forward and winced when pain shot up her back leg, only to go away a few seconds later. She shook her head and continued munching on the grass.
