This is a book I am writing, and I am still making it. Your welcome to post! I will be making the entire thing most likely on a different topic once I finish. If you find any errors, I would love to know! Please don't tell me any plot twists or such! I really have this amazing plot line going on already.

Character descriptions

Tess

Tess is a young girl at the age of 14 who is a great horsewoman. She excels in understanding them and knows much about them. She is 6 feet high with hazel eyes which change color. They mainly are a blue color of some sort. Tess' hair color is a straight red gingery and is naturally straight. She wears mainly through the story different clothes, but her main outfit will have the same tan boots and two necklaces. One necklace is a small gold colored heart locket that says 'Forever Yours' and has five small lines in it. The other one is a regular silver chain with no charm located anywhere on it. She has great hearing, eyesight, and memory. She values the life of an animal fairly high. Being an only child, Tess had learned to take care of herself because her mom was always away from work. Now a days, Tess didn't have much to do. She lives in Iowa, out in the country of the north eastern part of the state. She owns Snowflake Champion. Tess has a giant fear of spiders.


Snowflake Champion

It would be much easier for me to show you a picture, so I shall at the end of this. At the height of 15.2 hands and 4 years, Snowflake Champion is Tess' horse. Snowflake was bred in a racing stables and seeing her color, they instantly refused to keep her as a racer. She was sold as soon as she was weaned and was headed towards the life as a breeding mare, but Tess out bided the man. The old man was fairly ticked. The auctioneer had said it was a Purebred Quarter Horse Mare. The man and his partner never knew that she was a thoroughbred. Tess had trained Snowflake extremely well to what she is today. Snowflake is a clam horse who is kind, understanding, loyal, brave, a fighter, easy going, a listener, strong, high endurance, high stamina, a direct descendant of the famous stallion, Secretariat, who won the triple crown. Snowflake has been taught trail, ranch pleasure, English pleasure, western pleasure, arena jumping, cross country jumping, bare back, side saddle, two person riding, mane rein, foot turning, speed up on clicks, words, pressure, kicking, and even neck pressure, and slows down to words. Though trained in all those, her main sport is racing. Along with barrels, poles, and many other western competitions, she does English rides as well. Mainly jumping and racing, but the occasional dressage, which is still being worked on. Polo is one thing she can do, but doesn't like. She had been trained well and isn't afraid of warmer water, carts, or most things. Some fears she has though are shooting ranges, snakes, fires, and cold water.

Introduction/Sneak Peek

I am Tess. I have all the usual things, but one thing that makes me special are my horses. I have two of them, who I love dearly. Snowflake Champion is my real horse. The mare is a rare white thoroughbred with black mane and tail. She has four stockings and a black blaze and stripe. Part of it goes underneath her muzzle, and the top sort of makes an arrow ending between her eyes. Mentioning her eyes, they are beautiful with fascinating medium blue eyes. The odd part is that in the middle of her blaze is a slightly flat upside down heart. I should mention my other horse, well, actually my best friend, Alaya's, horse. It is a pretty sorrel with a fine blaze that looks like a spear. That's Holly, a quarter horse. We would go everywhere together, but in a single decision, that all had changed for me. I am now running.

Running. How odd to mention that. My story wasn't too long ago, but it was worth it... (To be Continued!)

It was a starry night with a full moon. I couldn't sleep a drop as I looked out the window from my bed. I had closed my eyes for a second, suddenly hearing a vehicle motor, maybe something attached. I flicked open my eyes, quietly lifting myself off the bed to look over the edge of the seal.

I snatched a glimpse of a pair of men getting out and going to my horse barn. I looked on with wide eyes then I jumped out of bed quickly and got on some clothes. I ran down the stairs and started going carefully, remembering the creaky stairs. After the stairs, I slipped on my tan boots, then unlatched the door. Shutting the door carefully behind me, I ran to the barn entrance, seeing Holly being loaded into their trailer attachment. I stayed in the shadows as they loaded up and closed the doors.

I tried to prevent my urge to go after them, but then I realized I could, on horseback, though. Quickly I ran back inside as the truck was leaving, grabbed some money and ran back to the barn. Grabbing my tack I went to my lovely mare, Snowflake and saddled up to ride. I didn't realize I left my helmet behind, but I got up on her anyways and clicked her into a trot, then lope, going after the truck. At the corner, for a brief second when I got close enough, I could see the licesned plates.

Now then I couldn't make out the words, the dark being intense, but as the night went on and we rode the gravel roads, the sun came up. At a stop sign, I was able to get a full intake of the liscense numbers: D54KY. Perfect. I made a mental note in my head. This was something I wouldn't forget. Taking a gamble and looking a little lower, I saw the state.

"Kentucky..." I whispered to myself, wondering why someone would come all the way down there to up here. I tried to look above for the county, but they started again and we had to continue after them. I nearly got caught by one of the men as he looked in the rearveiw mirrors. I instantly slowed realizing it. Lucky for me, he didn't see me.

"Come on girl, we got to keep up on after them. They got Holly." I told Snowflake, who snorted in response.

They stopped in town to get some gas at nine O'clock AM. Thank goodness, too. I was hungry. I let Snowflake graze on a hidden grassy patch and walked to the gas station. Looking inside I saw the two men. Quickly and quietly, I grabbed a bowl, water bottle, small milk, and two apples. I paid for them and went back out. Right before I left I heard one of the men talk.

"We gottas stay in town a fews days, we have somes business to deals with here, too, ya knows." One of the men said. The one man was short, wearing a red tee with kahki shorts and tennis shoes his hair was a longer blonde color, but was obviously dyed a blue at one point, as it was still wearing out. The other man was tail and seemed to be familiar, but I just couldn't put my finger on where. He had a brown mouschtache, and short, spiky brown hair.

I shook my head and walked out, going to Snowflake. I poured some of the water in the bowl and set it down for Snowflake to drink. I drank my milk gone wih the apple I got for myself and the other apple I got for Snowflake I handed to her. She gently lipped it off of my hands. I had to wait until later on to get Holly back, but maybe a check up wouldn't hurt. Leaving my stuff in the saddle bag, I walk back to the gas station, the two men talking and filling the truck with gas. Walking over I spoke up a little.

"Excuse me, sir," I spoke to the blonde haired one. "May I look at your horses if you have any in your horse trailer?" I pleaded, looking at them with an honest expression. It was true. I did want to see in there.

The blonde man looked to his partner. "I don't see what could hurt us to show off our prized horses." He stated, opening the trailer. Seeing the condition wasn't my shocker, but seeing what else was in there was. A gorgeous black stallion stood in the trailer stall, a chestnut bolt on his chest.

"Wow. Sir, you got lovely horses here. Must be worth a whole lot of money." I lied. They must of stollen the stallion as well. "I got one question though. What are their name's?" I asked, turning to look at the two.

The two men continued on, busy in conversation. "Ahem." I said, clearing my throat. The two men looked at me. "What are the names of these horses?" I asked, looking at them.

"The stallion is Cole, the mare is Issa." He responded, pointing a finger at each of the horses, saying the names. I knew that wasn't the right name for the horses most likely, especially Holly. I had to do some exploring of the town. They seemed like they were going to be in the small town for a week. I could maybe get Holly back. Just maybe. That was all depending on timing, which hadn't crossed my mind. I smiled and left, not needing them anymore.

I woke with a start, realizing I fell asleep next to Snowflake. I checked the time quickly, seeing it was only ten O'clock, at night. I sighed. I had slept good. Checking the window of the room they were renting, I knew exactly which place to approach the trailer from. Going up to the trailer, I picked the lock, smiling when I heard a click. I went into the trailer. Hearing a nicker I nearly jumped, seeing it was only Holly. I sighed in relief, knowing it was them. I looked at two saddles and two bridles, along with two halters and leads. Grabbing the white tack, I slipped the halter onto Cole. He didn't complain as I tacked him up with everything else and lead him out, seeing the time was eleven O'clock finally. Leading him out of the trailer, I locked it back up again and mounted Cole. Quickly, I rode back to Snowflake and tied the two together, but enough apart that they wouldn't cause any trouble.

I knew there what I had to do. I had to go to the sheriff. I had proof.
