Hail opened his eyes and looked up at the white she-cat that was beside him. "Hi. Whats your name?" He mewled.

"My name is False dear, what's your name young kit?" she cooed softly.

[fire,]

"I'm Hail." The tabby kit mewed. "Where are we now?"

[poqqi]

False
"We are in a cave, that's safe from all predators, so you don't have to worry. Here you are safe," she cooed once more.

[fire,]

Hail looked over at Cleopatra, Scar, and her kits. "A badger killed by mother, if you hadn't found me I'd be dead. Thank you." He mewled, nuzzling deeper into False's fur.

"Why thank me?" she said, more of a statement than a question, "I couldn't save your mother," she grumbled, not looking down at the snuggling kit, "What do you have to be greatful for? To stay alive another day, knowing your mother died, and you not being able to stop it? We'd all be better off dead," False said, more to herself than the kit.

[fire,]

Hail looked up. "But you're my foster mother, right?" He questioned.

[poqqi]

False
The white she-cat lifted her eyebrows, looking down at the young kit, "And why would you want me to be your foster mom? I'm not even good with kits...or cats in general," she mumbled the last part.

[fire,]

Hail shook his head. "I don't think that." He mewled. "I think you're an awesome cat."


Blood longed to have more kits of his own, ones that didn't hate him, in particular.

"Glad you don't really know me then, huh?" she asked rhetorically, rapping her tail around the small kit.
