I've got a question for those out there that know more about rats behavior than I do. (I know a lot, but this is something I've never experienced) My young rats, Cear, Osiris, and Joker all shake when I hold them, Joker seems terrified of being held sometimes. Thing is, I've been holding them every day, about an hour and a half each, since the day after they were born. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I give them treats when I've got them out in hopes it helps them trust me.

Are they boys or girls?
Boys:
Probably a bit nervous/scared/anxious or excited
Girls:
nervous/scared/anxious or excited
Or if they also shake there ears very fast, (like in
this movie) then they are in heat

Well it's noting really, so you don't have worry
I always tell my rats "you are not a phone, so stop vibrating"

The part where they are vibrating because they are excited doesn't have to be negative. They can also be excited to be with you and vibrate a bit.
Or happy being with you but a bit nervous because of the different environment they are in. (outside of there cage)
Some of my rats have vibrated in my neck while plopping with there eyes and being happy. But usually when they vibrate at that moment they will poo or pee on me and then when they are done they stop again with the vibrating

Day 9;
It's amazing how much they change within such a short time frame! The pups
already have fur! What gorgeous little ones they are too! I'm so happy with
my first litter! I've still gotta finalize the genders (as that is pretty difficult for
me) and then me and my friend can decide which ones to keep. I think the
brindle pup is a male, which I was kinda bummed about, but even though I really
don't want another male I think I'm gonna keep him. And I'll probably keep some
does too. I can tell that Joon is starting to get lonely being all by herself now
So when the pups are weaned I'd love to put 1-2 with her to keep her company.
I feel really bad for her. I was at the pet store today and was seriously thinking
about buying another mouse just for her but I realized that by the time the mouse
was out of quarantine, the pups would be weaned anyway. So she'll have to wait.
Anyway, the babies are nothing but wiggle worms now and it's super hard to get a
good look at them to see their gender XD

Agh! I need to get a camera from my grandmother today so I can get (good) pics of
all the babies. The ones I posted here are from my phone and just don't cut it for
me. It only takes good pics if I'm outside and it is way too cold/windy to take the
babies out there for a long period of time (plus we have a boat load of cats). I'm
just waiting to get that then I'll be ok.
/I've really gotta save my money for my own camera |D
Anyways, good luck to you and your brindle! I hope you have better luck with her!
