I actually haven't told anyone about my atheism yet, except my mom, and she really doesn't care. A lot of it is because i live in the suburbs, where if you aren't christian, you are an alien. Also, my mom's relatives are very christian, as is most of my dad's family.

Really? Where i live right now (I am moving soon) it's a suburban place and you are an alien if you ARE christian. It's odd, but nice. I'm going to miss it.

Oh my gosh, it's totally the same where I live. Like, EVERYBODY is a Christian, and if you aren't, then it's pretty much impossible to have a social life because everyone alienates you. Which, of course, is why I keep my mouth shut and pretend like I worship Jesus like everyone else....

Umbre here, proud atheist. My own family has told me I'm a hell-bound monster for it, I've been alienated for it, but you know what? It's better than living the lie that is Christianity. I'm proud that I live by my own morals and ideals instead of what an institution tells me to feel. I'm proud to see logic and reasoning in the complexities and beauty of our world. I am proud that I think and I question.

I agree with Umbre in many ways. However, it's difficult to place me into a label such as "Atheist". I have a mix of Agnostic, Wiccan, and Satanist beliefs. But I suppose if I must be one thing, I am predominately a Satanist/Agnostic. My username is k. prynne and I guess I'm number eighty-six.

Atheist is actually a very general term. It just means you don't believe in god(s, and actually doesn't touch on anything else (paranormal, new age, etc). Sometimes the term "strong atheist" is used to denote someone who asserts that there are no gods or anything spiritual at all.

Interesting. You see, I'm not Atheist, as I'm a creationist. I believe there is a creator, but he died a long time ago. Either that or just plain doesn't give a [censored] and is off doing his own thing somewhere off in the universe. I don't know, and I don't want to. XD

I guess I would most fall under Creationist.

I think christianity and the bible was all a ploy to get people to behave (perhaps SOME of the things mentioned in that book may have happened; humans are capable of incredible feats).

But at the same time I would never completely deny it, because really there is no wat to know...
