- Quinn elbowed him in the ribs with a huff as the comment was made about his little cloud of sand as he ran down the beach. it wasn't like he was trying to hide. well, he probably should, if Amelia was here, but he'd been a little too excited to worry. but soon the topic was brought up about their old tree house, and Quinn's turquoise eyes lit up at the mention of 'the palace'. that rickety old thing had been one of his favorite things in the world. how they'd thought it was gigantic was beyond him. a light chuckle brushed past his lips, and he leaned back on the palms of his hands against the cooling sand, finding an odd peacefulness to the waves as they reached up the shore to touch the golden land, then slid back into the ocean. it was nice, and even better with Luka here. "Well, yeah. I mean, no, not quite as fabulous as 'the palace' was. but I built two. funny thing was, I never spent any time in them. it seemed wrong without my partner in crime. I'd sort of just sit on the ground below them and stare at them. kind of depressing." the wind started to play with his light brown hair, teasing it around his face. lets see, what else was exciting? not much. Tennessee wasn't all that great. "nothing important, I guess. I've never had much luck in school, you know that, so life sort of sucked. my parents are as uncaring as ever, and apart from cheating girlfriends and alcoholic buddies, and of course the constant drama of social activity, nothing worth talking about. Quinnely glanced over at his friend, then gently poked him in the side and smiled crookedly, a dimple flashing up on his cheek. "what about here?"
