Actually, Peeta tells her toward the end of Mockingjay while playing the Real of Not Real game to bring back his memory.

I love the Hunger Games! Only Katniss didn't end up with Gale (sob!) and Cinna (my idol!) is gone.

Also, I love my pin, though I don't quite know what to do with it. I would wear it, but with all the sports I do and all, it's not quite convenient. So I just keep it as a "collector's item". xP
