Colt, though not followed with the friendliest of pasts, is very happy and positive. he looks for the best in everything and always wants to help others before him. Though he sounds all happy and giddy he's not. Colt has a terrible time trusting people and he hates, he also just likes to be alone. He tries his best to trust people but he always has that worry in the back of him mind that they'll leave him alone and hurt, but though he has that problem that doesn't mean hes scared to meet someone. He loves new faces, especially when he can lick them, and that's the best. He loves giving people big sloppy wet kisses on the cheek. Though many do pull away, you'll never know what there reaction will be until you try.
Colt is also an adventures, but his long wispy fur get knotted and dirty very fast. That doesn't ever stop this free-boy from feeling the wind in his fur! But he rarely likes going on his own and loves when there's a human by his side, even if he has that sinking feeling that they might leave him. He will never pass up the chance. He'd rather have that amazing two seconds of having someone by his side. Then never feeling that moment a day in his life.

Likes;

Colt loves many things but there are thous few things that he loves above all else. He loves bacon strips so much he could eat a whole bag and still want more. Though he sometimes gets a weird after taste he'll never pass up the chance. Bacon is a dogs best friend after all isn't it! A hand by his side, he loves to know that someones there and that he wont be left. He will often shove his nose under your arm just so he can be as close as possible, even if its an awkward position for himself! Walks yes every dog loves them but its more the chance of spending time with his owner or watcher that really gets him with walks. He never will pull or chase a squirrel be just loves to be in the open air with his handler. Tom, Tom is Colt's toy turtle who he could never have made it this far without. He loves that little toy so much its his home, since he has had quite a few and been in the shelter quite a bit, he knows that wherever Tom is it's home to Colt.

Dislikes;

Though it may seem Colt loves a lot of things he still dislikes quite a bit. Water, he just cant stand his fur being soaked with water, for some reason he things its blood dripping from his coat but no one knows why he thinks that. Loud sounds, he just can't stand the ringing in his ears the thought that he might be hurt. Its just terrifying especially trains and vacuums. Thous are the worst for him, he just can't stand them. Sticky stuff, he loves his fur and him thinking that gum or something gooey is stuck in his fur makes him shiver with fear, so he constantly cleans himself like a cat sometimes.

History;

Colt's history is quite hazy and he never talks about it, as he just doesn't like it, likes to dream it hasn't even happened. But you get to hear it just once so I would pay close attention. His life started out great, though he was bread on accident when a male husky named Steal jumped a fence and mated with an amazing female malamute names Chloe. The owners to Chloe thought it was amazing their girl was having puppies. Soon the litter was born 5 girls and 1 male, being Colt. The family was ecstatic especially he young 10 year old they had, who even tried to sleep with the pups by the mom. They knew they had to sell them all, as soon as they were old enough. Colt was the 3rd one sold to a wonderful family the Watsons. They were amazing a young couple starting there new life, and Colt was thrilled. It was amazing!
Colt had been living with the Watsons for a year and a half. He lived the life and everything was great, but en everything changed. They got a baby and Mr. Watson got very ill and soon died, from an affective wound that reached his bones and it couldn't be stopped from spreading. Now Mrs. Watson was husbandless and a single mom. She had no choice but o sell Colt. She was despret for the money so she sold him fast to a terrible man. He lived there for 6 months and the man tried to cut his ears and almost burnt him with a cigaret. Colt rarely got water and normally drank the muddy rain water outside. He sometimes got table scraps but normally ate the weeds that grew outside. But Colt didn't mind he lived somewhere. He had a roof over his head and someone who sort f took care of him.
Soon at man came to an nd and he sold Colt to another person. He lived there and it was great but rarely did they play with him. They soon got everything and left him. They lived in he middle of no where so it took 4 months for someone finally find him. He was covered in mud, stuck under the fence in he backyard. His side had dried blood from I'm trying to chew himself out of the fence, but never succeeded.
Colt now stays at Serenity Shelter waiting for his true faily to find him.

This pup has been named Samuel. I'm not really sure what made me choose this name for him. I have always wanted a dog named Samuel, but we have never gotten a male dog. Plus, I am a huge fan of the show Supernatural and one of the main characters, Sam, adores dogs. It kind of felt right to name him Samuel. I also think he looks like a Samuel.

Samuel has quite a few nicknames that people call him. The people at the pound usually call him Sam or Sammy, and little kids tend to call him Sam Sam. I also would call him Sam Sam a lot, though Sammy is adorable too. His previous owners called him mutt a lot, not always in a mean way, usually in a joking way. Still, it hurt his feelings.

ｐｅｒｓｏｎａｌｉｔｙ >> A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

Samuel is a mix of different things, but so is everyone. Husky's and Malamute's have pretty similar personalities, so there is not a lot of difference between his personality and theirs, he just has a few twists of his own.

peppy- Sammy is pretty much always excited and happy for what's to come. He tends to bounce on his paws when he walks. Samuel does calm down sometimes, but it doesn't take much to get him excited again. Usually just a high pitch voice and some clapping will get him going again.

considerate- Sam worries about other animals and people around him a lot. He wants to make sure they're happy. Not once has he used to bathroom inside the house. Well, except when he was too young to really understand things yet. He is very considerate of other people's emotions and how they feel.

loyal- You will have a hard time finding another dog as loyal as Samuel. He will follow you around everywhere and never stray. After his fifth month, he never had to wear a leash again. He just does not like being alone.

loving- Give him attention, and he'll give you all of his time. He adores being around kind people and tends to act like a cat. He'll come up and rub his head or body against your legs and occasionally whine if he really wants attention. If you're sitting on the couch, or even in a chair, he will be in your lap before you know it. However, he hates to be held. As long as he's in control, he's okay. If you try to hold him, he will tense up and not do anything until you let go. And if you stop petting him, he'll stick his muzzle under your arm and try to flip it back onto him.

smart- Samuel is also pretty smart. He knows how to sit, lay, roll over, shake, play dead, and jump up on his hind legs, all without you telling him. You just have to use certain motions, such as spinning your finger in a circle for him to roll over. He is currently being trained to retrieve items for people, such as socks or shoes.

Of course, he is not without faults. Samuel is very shy around new people and it takes him time to warm up to you. Once he has, he'll rub against your legs as to say "Hey, you're cool with me". He can also be skittish, meaning be careful with fast movements around him. This trait should go away after being in a good home and learning no one is going to hurt him again. One thing of advice for dealing with Samuel, is not to get near him with nail clippers unless you're trained to deal with dogs like him. He will hurt you if you try to do it without proper training and know-how.

"A dog for a baby shower present, really May? What was your brother thinking?" Samuel wasn't sure what the Alpha said to the she-Alpha, but he could tell that the man was not pleased. The young pup pinned his ears against his head, then whined.
"Shut up!" This made Samuel press closer to the floor.
Honestly, it wasn't even his own fault. That little pest of a pup the she-Alpha had brought home a few months ago was messing with his tail. He had never done anything to the pup or the Alpha's. There was no socks torn up or shoes with teeth marks in them. He didn't even beg for food at the table! But one little growl and a snap of his teeth and it was the end of the world.
That day was just the beginning. The Alpha never did like him and he got progressively worse, even though the she-Alpha tried to calm him down. The human pup was okay after it learned not to pull on Samuel's tail. He liked it actually.
It wasn't that big of a surprise when the Alpha put, well almost tossed, Samuel into the monster sitting on the hard ground outside the den and took him away. Samuel was sad for awhile, sitting in the corner of that 'cage'. He had learned that word from an older dog in the cage next to him.
"You'll be okay, son. You're still young." The old dog barked at him as the last of the workers left. But Samuel didn't think he wanted a new family. What if they were like the old one?
The workers at the dog shelter were very sweet to him. He got plenty of food and a volunteer took him for a walk or in a playroom to get exercise every day. She was very nice, calling him Sammy a lot, and not mutt. Her hands brushed through his fur softly, leaving his tail and paws alone, and she talked to him. Not like how his old she-Alpha spoke to her pup, but like Quincy, the old dog, talked to him. Like a friend.
"Oh, you're such a great dog, Sammy. I don't know why someone hasn't adopted you yet." She told him often. Samuel didn't try to impress the people that came in to get a pet, he liked the volunteer.
It took a lot of persuading on her part to get her parents to adopt another dog. They had two already and lived in a small place. But she was good at convincing people and getting her way with it.
"This is him, Samuel" Samuel looked up as his cage door opened and the volunteer clipped a leash on him. Two older humans stood next to her and he looked up at them as he left the cage. One was a male with thin hair and some facial fur, the other a woman with unruly curly hair, like her daughter's but black.
"Oh, he's lovely!" The woman said, rubbing Sam's cheeks. The male reached out and Samuel flinched back slightly.
"It's okay." He spoke softly. He seemed to have a dog's voice and Samuel felt he could trust him.
"He's still a little skittish, especially around men. His old owner wasn't too friendly." The girl told her mom his breed, with a cheeky smile, knowing she was a sucker for Husky's and Malamute's.
It was a nice day for Samuel. They took him into the playroom and he got to show off his tricks. the woman tried to play with his tail at one time, and he growled, then ducked down, expecting to be scowled. but she patted his head and said sorry.
The girl, who he had finally learned was named Jessica, though everyone but her parents called her Jay, played with him in the lobby for a while, which he thought was strange. However, that was just the start of it.
"Come on, Sam Sam, let's go." Samuel followed obediently, though he was confused. When he reached the monster outside the shelter, he realized he had a new family.
The ride was nice, he always liked rides in the noisy thing, and not too long. He jumped out and looked around. They lived in a smaller den, but it was in the middle of a big clearing in the forest. He could hear the sound of water and smelt the wet in the air. Must be near a river.
Two other dogs stood on the porch, wagging their tails and barking hellos at their owners. Then they noticed him standing next to Jay. The man let them off the porch and they came over to him.
"Hello! I'm Grace!" The taller one spoke first. She was a sable Siberian Husky with bright blue eyes and a hyper personality, similar to his. They sniffed at each other in greeting.
The second was calmer and was a little shy to him at voice. "Um, hello. My name is Oreo." She had big brown eyes, almost human like, and looked like a border collie, but without a white stripe on her face. "I came from the shelter you did, four years ago. This family will treat you well." Oreo told him, sniffing at his paws for a moment.
After the greetings, they let him into their home to wander around. There was a faint scent of cat and when he asked about it, Grace told him they had a cat outside that Jay occasionally brought in. It didn't take long for him to get adjusted to the family.
Jay or her father played ball with the trio every day, sometimes twice a day, and there was always food in their bowl. He found out Grace was a lot like his happier side, always wanting attention and being excited, while Oreo was his calmer, shelter personality. She got scared easily and hated to be held, but loved to play fetch.
The Alpha never yelled at him, no one messed with his tail, and he felt safe.

ｓｐｅｃｉｅ >> Huskamute

Samuel is a mixed breed of a Husky and an Malamute. These types of dogs look similar to their parents and are very cute and fluffy. Of course, many people believe them to be dirty mutts and won't have anything to do with them, which is stupid in my opinion. Samuel is just as friendly and beautiful as any full blooded Husky or Malamute.

Samuel's theme song would have to be "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" by Monty Python. What better song to pick for such a lovely pup? He's always trying to make things better for himself, and the people (and pets) around him. I chose "Living in the Sunshine" by Tiny Tim for the happy song for various reasons. It does have a creepy feeling for anyone who has seen Insidious, but it's such a great song for Samuel's Happy Song. I think Tiny Tim's voice is perfect for it and it just makes me smile every time I hear it. It was also tied with "Singing in the Rain" by Gene Kelly, so I wanted to make an honorable mention for it. The video of it makes it even better.
