Straight from a children’s storybook, Mysery is a land that was once described as beautiful and friendly. For centuries, myserians have called this land their home but that all changed about two and a half decades ago. King Carlos Jackson passed at a very young age, leaving the control to his only son, Prince Jonathan Jackson.
What a big mistake that was.
The young King was not ready to rule; he was too naive and greedy after years of spoiling from his parents. He took power and quickly acted on his own wants and needs, hiring taxes and sending many into poverty. Within the first two years of his reign, he increased their military and security power greatly after conspiracy of his assassination and disobedience, turning the kind monarchy into a cruel dictatorship.
As many rebellions start, the younger generations began to speak out against the insanity. Much of them were killed, or arrested and sentenced to death for tyranny against the government. This of course, never stopped them. Many went underground, preaching plans and attacks but never really getting a chance to fulfill their wishes. The new rebels lacked leadership, strong support, and the groups were too far and wide.
Perhaps, the King’s latest and most successful counterattack was the enactment of a mandatory training school for those with powers and gifts, as well as those without. He reasoned this would bring education to the forefront, by teaching intellectual ideas as well as the physical. He also increased studies and science mainly in the area of Myserian’s gifts. Despite his reasoning, many suspected the man was training the children for the King’s own gain. Rumors also tell of torture and unfair treatment as well as some of the children going missing...
The question is, is it all true?
The rebellion broke up for a decade or so, after many rebels were “taken care of” or gave up the hope or went rogue. But with a new generation and rising reasons to overthrow the king, a new kind of rebellion begins. This time, they’re not scared and face the consequences head on. But to them, it’s more than just their lives at stake, but every man, woman, child, and freedom. Many have gone rogue, and hide right in the open.
Not much is really known about their gifts, why they have them, and why some don’t get them. All who do have a power will develop them around puberty. Central Mysery
Central Mysery is the largest and most populated city in Mysery. Despite the name, Central Mysery is actually the southernmost settlement in the Kingdom. The city is guarded by a large brick wall, currently being reinforced with metal plates. To the North is the Great Palace itself, where King Jackson and much of his family resides. The castle overlooks a enlarged town square, where the market place that is filled with shop keeps early in the morning, is held- Except for Wednesdays, when the King or his general will lead executions and require all of the central Myserians to attend. Closer to the palace itself, the more nobles and expensive houses you will see.
Jamestown
They say this small quaint little town was one of the first town founded in Mysery. The courthouse once served as the castle for the king, King Rodney Lodner, the very first ruler and many of his descendants. The citizens of the town have taken care of their historic places and buildings, finding history to be very important. The town is very well known for its traditions and kindness of the people. Most of the people here, side with the rebels. The town is known for the kindness and most believe it’s the safest place, less likely to see very much action from the King. This is the closest safe place for the rebels to go, though it’s only a few miles from the gates of Central Mysery.
Rebel Camp
Nothing more, nothing less. As the name suggests, this is the center of all the organized rebellion in Mysery. The rebels make home deep into the woods just North of Jamestown. Their camp isn’t much, consisting of mostly tents and other makeshift homes. Some rebels even sleep in trees. Closest to center of the camp, is a small fire. Despite how unsafe it may be, the trees above where the fire is usually burning are very thick and conceal the smoke. Healers cook group meals out of whatever meat, and herbs they scrounge up. It isn’t always tasty, but it’s warm and sometimes a Rebel finds a decent amount of Rabbit meat. The rule stands as, “Share or get scarce,” meaning you donate something or don’t eat.
Enzi’s Guild
Enzi’s Guild is a group of Necromancer who, like gypsis travel around Mysery. Enzi’s Guild is not an official town, especially considering it would be a moving town, but they can be found in four different places. One is in the mountains to the east, where they usually stay longest. The three other places they will stop is right outside Jamestown, the outskirts of Central Mysery [Where they usually stay for the shortest period of time], and a few somewhat unknown areas to the west. This is a band of Necromancer’s who have been persecuted in their old homes. Even funnier, four out of five times this group has managed to avoid Mysery’s government.
Jackson's Forward Youth School
This is the place, where the King's soldiers are trained, or well, where young minds learn to control their powers. After the appearance of the child's mark, they are required to attend this school with or without force. It's a large building placed not far from Central Mysery's town center. It is four floors, with the west wing reserved for student boarding. It's one of the largest buildings in Central Mysery, and the one to be surrounded by barbed wire fencing. Most of the conspiracy comes from this place. Students are not aloud to speak of what they have experienced with threat of death if they do.

Healer
Gifted with healing powers, usually a medic or doctor. But healing comes at a cost. Many healers tire easily and can be caught napping, especially after massive healing. If someone is on the brink of death, they may even use some of their own or the injured's life force, which could be very deadly in and of itself. Their markings will be a pale blue color.
Shape Shifters
Shape Shifters are able to become another animal, although it does take a lot of work to be able to "master" the animal. For much of a person's younger years, they may not be able to change more than the length of their nails, grow fur, etc. This power type tends to take a lot from their energy stores, that are easiest to regain with food. So, a balanced diet is probably the best idea. Shifters must be careful though. If they shift too many times in short periods, they may loose consciousness, or even gain characteristics of their animal, mental or physical. Their tattoo will be pale brown.
Elementalists
Elementalistss can simply control one of the four elements: Earth [Tattoo will be bright green], water [bright blue, almost shines], fire [bright red orange], Air [Violet]. This element takes a lot of skill to truely master. Practice, practice, practice, is what all elementalists must learn.
Necromancer
Also known as “Death Dancers” in some villages. A Necromancer must face a life of solitude, exile, and prejudice by most people. Many have banished them from their towns because of how well they can raise dead bodies, but they can only revive and kill the bodies not the minds and spirits. And many go insane, from the many haunting spirits in which the dead bodies belong to. Their tattoo will be black.
Mesmers
Mesmers, or “mentalists”, much like the Necromancers have been faced with many exiles. Their power? Mind tricks. They're able to play with a person's fear and memories to use it against them. A few times in history, strong and wise mesmers were able to heal amnesia, even as healers could not. It takes a lot of energy and both the Mesmers and their Mesmie are at cost for insanity. Their tattoo is red.
Ritualists
“Spirit Speakers” can do work in the realm of ghosts, speak to dead and are masters at all sorts of rituals, they tend to be found in churches or helping healers in their work, to calm patients in distress. The worst side effective? Being stuck in the in between stage of death, spirit, and the real world. And their spirits can only be gone for so long before the body itself dies. Their tattoo is silver.
Empaths
Empaths can feel other people's emotions, and can sometimes mess with them, but to a certain degree. Its not exactly a 'use this to do this' power, but its kind of an all time use until they can control it... Which is very hard. Empathy brings crippling headaches and many other painful side effects. Their tattoos are pale green.[Idea by Gibbs]
Biomancers
A very rare power. [Meaning I'm limiting it. 1 out of twenty characters for now. First come, first reserve. And I will want proof of you RP skills before I agree. Oh and one per member aloud] Many do not know of it's existence. Those that do, fear it. Biomancers, or "Life Dancers", can take control of another living being, from a Venus Fly Trap to a human being, through possession for a short period. The length of possession is extended from possessing the same being and experience. After time is up both the host and biomancer fall in unconscious until their spirits are able to return to the correct body. Their tattoos are gold.[Idea from Liz]
Seers
Seers can see bits of the future, but are often confused by it, as the future is changing with each action. They may also see parts of a person's past with a touch, though it takes a while for them to learn to control it. It's easier to see someone's more recent past than further back. They can sometimes see what's happening in the room or area around them in the past or future. For example, if they walk into a room at 2:00, they can see what was happening in that room 50 years ago. Many Seers are always confused, as they don't know what's real and what is the illusion. Like with seeing someone's past or future, it takes a while to learn to control this, though they can eventually blot out the visions. Basically, they can see through all kinds of time, whether it be future or past for a specific person or an area. Their tattoos are pare purple. [Written by Sarah.]
Pilfer
A pilfer swipes or steals another person's power. Now, this power does take alot of practice and is frowned upon in many areas or towns. Pilfers can only keep the power for five minutes, average. After then, the power will drop as if they never had it, along with a lot of their energy. Taking the power from the "giver" also takes energy from them as well. There's nothing more to this power besides that. Their tattoo color is white.[Sarah's idea.]
Nightlighter
Nightlighters have the ability to make light and electricity. Each Nightlighter has their own unique look to their light. One person might have light that looks like stars, while another person may have butterfly-shaped light. Nightlighters also make notorious thieves, as their light is made of electric charges that give out powerful shocks. Their tattoo is pale orange.[Written by Gibbs]

Vervex
Vervexes can control certain aspects of the weather, from little things like temperature change to things like storms or blizzards. Of course, they'll need something to work off of - it would be very difficult to near impossible to create a thunderstorm on a cloudless, sunny day. The time of year also affects it - obviously, it would be much easier to create a blizzard in the winter rather than summer. With practice, they can also control where it is - for example, if there was a storm brewing, they could call down lightning to a specific point. While they can create weather and precipitation, they can also take it away - if one tried hard enough, they could cause a drought. Each Vervex has their own method of changing weather - some prefer to use purely their mind, some like to use hand or body motions. As well as controlling the weather, they can feel when the weather is changing, noticing things others won't - a build up of pressure before a storm, or the dryness of a coming drought. Vervexes should keep an eye on their emotions, also - the weather changes with them. If they're feeling moody, a storm might start. Their tattoos are the color yellow. [Written by Sarah.]
Lokie
Lokie is the power to copy a persons apperance with a touch to the forehead. The person that takes the apperance can only hold it for a short amount of time, and that persons energy is deducted in a large amount. The person who's apperance was stolen, though, is not affected in any way. But, once the apperance is gone,tre person that stole it's face will feel numb or feel like it's on fire, only saying the apperance is fading or gone. Their tattoo is pink. [Abby wrote.]

Mysery Ranks
Rulers
The King and Queen who live within the castle. The king hass currently turned the monarchy into a dictatorship. Once there was a parliament when his father was in power.Limited
Royalty
They are usually called by Prince and Princess. They are any direct blood relatives, such as children, they usually live with the rulers. Limited, only by request.
Nobility
Men and Women who have worked/are working for or with the government in some way. This may include high ranking soldiers, such as Generals, Lieutenants, etc. People who were once a parliament member are now nobility, if they still live. If the family is wealthy, they may not have ever served the country. But they used to have power of influence. Somewhat limited. I may have to limit, if too many characters are created.
Soldiers
Men and women who served the Mysery government in some way, mainly fighting in the army. They're usually called by “Sir/Ma'am” or “Soldier”. They are treated with great respect and honor but do not have much political power and have enough money to get by, with just a little extra. Their houses are usually elegant but simple.
Peasants
Men and women with no power and very little money. They are usually farmers or small town workers, have very simple and not always the most beautiful houses. They may live with other neighbors and/or relatives, in little houses.
Doctors
Men and women, some and most with very gifted healing powers and very smart. They are somewhat wealthy but tend to use their gifts for bad deeds, like over priced care and black mail.
Students
Young men and women who must go to school, leaving any family they have to better their powers and maybe even “influenced” by the government....
Rebel Ranks
President
The unofficial leader, voted on by the rebels. Usually very skilled in strategy, war, and some sort of fighting, which my be hand to hand, weapons, etc, or at least deeply respected by the rebels. Very limited.
Deputy
The president's shadow or understudy of the President. If anything happens to the President, the deputy will take his/her place. He/She will lead behind the president, learning what they can before their president’s “term” is over. Will be decided later.
Medics
Exactly what the name entitles. Most have the power of healing, but not always. Many have little training, and do with what they have as best as they can. Many will know how to use different herbs, plants, weeds, and flowers as food and/or medicine.
General
This is the man/woman who is a very skilled leader and strategist. Most of the time, they’re also a very skilled fighter in all ranges. They will lead many and most battles. They also coordinate the rebels, along with help from the deputy. When the deputy falls, or has moved onto their presidency, the general will step up and a new general will be voted for.
Soldiers
Very loyal and opinionated people who are willing to fight against Mysery and the unfair rule. They follow under the president's command, and may or may not have a past.

Men and women with no power and very little money. They are usually farmers or small town workers, have very simple and not always the most beautiful houses. They may live with other neighbors and/or relatives, in little houses.
Doctors
Men and women, some and most with very gifted healing powers and very smart. They are somewhat wealthy but tend to use their gifts for bad deeds, like over priced care and black mail.
Students
Young men and women who must go to school, leaving any family they have to better their powers and maybe even “influenced” by the government....
Rebel Ranks
President
The unofficial leader, voted on by the rebels. Usually very skilled in strategy, war, and some sort of fighting, which my be hand to hand, weapons, etc, or at least deeply respected by the rebels. Very limited.
Deputy
The president's shadow or understudy of the President. If anything happens to the President, the deputy will take his/her place. He/She will lead behind the president, learning what they can before their president’s “term” is over. Will be decided later.
Medics
Exactly what the name entitles. Most have the power of healing, but not always. Many have little training, and do with what they have as best as they can. Many will know how to use different herbs, plants, weeds, and flowers as food and/or medicine.
General
This is the man/woman who is a very skilled leader and strategist. Most of the time, they’re also a very skilled fighter in all ranges. They will lead many and most battles. They also coordinate the rebels, along with help from the deputy. When the deputy falls, or has moved onto their presidency, the general will step up and a new general will be voted for.
Soldiers
Very loyal and opinionated people who are willing to fight against Mysery and the unfair rule. They follow under the president's command, and may or may not have a past.

- Abby, Bri, and I are owners, equally. You may be accepted, excused, etc. by either of us.
- No mary sues or anything like all that. No one likes a perfect character.
- This is a semi-literate roleplay, many of us will try to post as such so you can do it. At least give it a try. We understand writer's block
- Rare powers, such as Biomancy is rareee. This is first come, first reserve. And I will want proof, that you won't cheat or any of that. Past RP posts, are totally acceptable.
- Please tell me or the co-owners if you feel ignored, or something like that. We would be glad to help
- Romance is completely okay. But you should know when too far is too far. Use fade to black and time skips.
- Censor curses with *** or [censored] or another method.
