"This is the road to ruin
And we're starting at the end
Let's be alone together
We could stay young forever
Scream it from the top of your
lungs, lungs, lungs

Damien stood quietly, rather reserved into his own mind. It was all quite baffling to him, how so much had gone wrong within a matter of minutes. For god's sake, people were already discussing war against the Broken and it hadn't even been a scarce hour. But then again, as he had voiced before, it was only a matter of time before something like this was bound to happen. The clans couldn't seem to go a month without major conflict, but that was nothing out of the ordinary. Ever since the Broken had taken root on the Shattered Isle there had been nothing but trouble. Damien had heard plenty about before they came, when there wasn't any danger in the light part of the woods other than the creatures, which they could handle. Now Broken clan members, on the other hand, were not quite as easy to discard of. Seemingly broken from his trance of thought, Damien squared his shoulder and moved away from the rickety wall. Only then did he register that Istabella, the medic apprentice, had entered the room. He nodded to her in greeting, his eyes betraying nothing as usual. "I'll leave you to it Zaila." he said in a rather soft tone, but his voice was even and unemotional, "It might be a bit late for that walk now, but I need to think a few things over before deciding what to do."

"Don't cry to me
If you loved me,
You would be here with me
You want me,
Come find me
Make up your mind"

The thing about the silence in the forest is that it never lasted long. If you just sat and listened, there would always be some resounding sound. Whether a howl, or the snapping of a branch, there was always something. Such was the fact that unnerved Scarlett about this home of hers. No matter what she was doing, she could never forget the creatures lying wait in the forest. Now, this didn't make her fearful, she was a gryphon after all, and even if it did, she would sooner die than admit that she was afraid. Also, she knew that the Broken didn't have it as worse off. their land held some of the lesser wild beasts, and for that she was both grateful and quite smug. Being a noble creature of pride and vanity herself, she tended not to look to the little things,. but rather the big picture instead. What she saw was a war, raging every second of every day whether her clan mates knew it or not. Whatever advantage they could get, no matter if it be more suitable terrain of simply more members, she would take it. Of course, she would be the one to think this way. In all honesty, Scarlett was a war-driven mind hiding in a casing of feathers and a enormous ego. Even she herself didn't quite recognize this. But no matter, none of that was though of as Scarlett sat in her house, running fingers through her long, luxurious hair that she prized so highly. The woman could be covered in the blood of her enemies and still find time to straighten her hair. Such vain things were a defining feature, but it's not all bad. She did look good most of the time. However, when it came to battle, her gloves came off. Scarlett was a dangerous opponent with her lither muscles and impeccable speed and she knew it. In fact, she had never face off against The Broken's leader, so she did not know for sure, but she would've been willing to bet that she could hold her own. With a sigh, Scarlett stood, and exited her house with long strides, moving out into the daylight. Just then, she saw Darius slipping out of the medic's window, directly in her line of sight. Her eyes narrowed slightly, curious as to what he may be doing, but, as he was her leader, she did not question his intentions. Much.
