I should've voiced this earlier but I find it more fitting for Brighteyes to mentor Ravenpaw more so than Cougarheart (despite her obvious age advantage)
Not only is Brighteyes blind as well, he is also much more tolerant and understanding to Ravenpaw's cause and will be able to help her transition into a life without sight but into another world created by their own senses.
Just suggesting C;
perhaps after Ravenpaw loses her sight, Brighteyes can volunteer or be asked to stand in as her new mentor? After all, Cougarheart's quite emotionally unstable at the moment ^^;
