I'm sorry, but Katy Perry's Dark Horse song makes no sense to me, and in my opinion it's a pretty bad song. If you like the song, i'd appreciate it if you could deal with my opinion and not attack me over it. c;
A dark horse is someone who is not expected to do well. She says that she knows a guy will come to her, but then she says that she is coming at him like a dark horse? That makes no sense? She doesn't think she can get this guy but she says that she...Am I just missing something here?
Pop music just comes across as the same formulaic, generic stuff about being in love and going to parties. Maybe i'm just negative because I don't do either of those two things. But I prefer music that's real, not this generic pop stuff. I like dubstep because it's not pretending to be something it's not, if that makes sense. Pop artists like Katy Perry seem to just put on an act. A lot of pop music doesn't have any truth behind it to me anymore.

The thing I love about music is that there is so many different aspects to it. Like someone could listen to one song for it's lyrics and another for its bass. Personally, I love a mix of songs and listen to them depending on the mood/situation I am in.
Some of my favorites include...
MGMT (all time favorite band)
Tame Impala
Neutral Milk Hotel
Grizzley Bear
The Unicorns
Andrew Jackson Jihad
Bruno Mars
Justin Timberlake
Okkervil River
Norwegian Arms
Kendrick Lamar
Eminem
Led Zeppelin
Beatles
Matt & Kim
Phoenix
2 Door Cinema
Like I said, quite a mix :p

I personally do not like 90% of pop songs on the radio. That includes Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, The Wanted and what not. I think the only pop musician I would buy albums from is P!nk...
Honestly, you'd find my family jammin out to some 94.7 in the car, and I have my headphones in, rocking out to some Bon Jovi. Yes, I'm that kind of person.
My music taste revolves around Country, Rock, 80s rock, Alternative, Dubstep and metal.
For example, these are some songs on my iPod that I listen to often, in the same playlist.
Everlong- FooFighters {my favorite song}
The Ride- David Allen Coe
Jet Airliner- Steve Miller Band
Heart of Rock n Roll-Huey Lewis and the News
Arms Wide Open- Creed
Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites- Skrillex
Afterlife- Avenged Sevenfold
Indestructible- Disturbed
Sleepwalking- Bring me the Horizon
