He's one of my only characters and I've been dying to use him

Btw I was just wondering if I started a project and posted it on tumblr would anyone really follow? I was thinking of turning a plot out of my huge list into a personal project but if no ones going to read it eh

So, I'm thinking of creating an RP (my first!) based upon a book you've probably seen mentioned by me several times now called One Hundred Percent Lunar Boy, and I wanted to know who would be interested. This book is pretty obscure--I doubt many people have read it. That being said, reading the book isn't mandatory. The book's plot line isn't even that central to the story; you could probably get away with the very basic ideas behind the universe and the most obvious points of conflict.

I'll come up with a big introductory post that modifies certain things for the benefit of those interested in the idea, not the specifics of the book, but for now reading this review will give a pretty basic synopsis of the idea behind the book.

I'd like to emphasize that it will not be a copy of the book. I quite enjoyed the plot but it wouldn't make for an interesting RP if I followed the book exactly. The basics are the parts I want to include: the eyes, the prejudice, the goggles, the idea of police and a population at large viewing them as abominations and criminals waiting to happen, the conspiracy to arrest people with LOS to enslave them for government use/testing. The setting and the year are somewhat unimportant, really--it's easy to draw parallels between the society in the book, which is 2000 years in the future and on the Moon, and today's. The technology is fairly underplayed, too; if anyone would be more comfortable with an Earth-based setting not that far in the future, it would be an easy tweak. Knowing a basic geography of the Moon would be preferable, especially the Sea of Tranquility, and having some ideas of interesting technological innovations--nothing too exciting, because literally the only differences are the cars being somewhat more futuristic--they look like the circle bike things from MIB3--and some jobs are completely made up and nonsensical; the rest, I think, were so unimportant you could make up stuff as you go. This is if I went through with the setting in the book, but again it's not too important.

It's a fun science fiction idea.

I'm even willing to do one x one if that's preferable. Don't care. I need this. ;_;

How do you feel about 'anime' roleplays?

Considering that the link I just posted takes some ideas from popular anime, I would say I'm perfectly fine with them. I quite like the plots of some anime; in fact, many of them are rather interesting and are fun to roleplay. I think the problem with anime roleplays would be when it's a canon roleplay but there's a whole bunch of mary-sues in it?
Just because I like the plot doesn't necessarily mean I want to roleplay using a character that someone else has created, but nor do I want to have to deal with a whole bunch of really silly characters messing around.
Generally if I want to make an rp following the plot of an anime I make it either
a) set in the future
b) current event but without interaction between canon characters and OCs
or c) just set in the world or taking parts of the world to use.

I want an RP where the myers-briggs personality types(an explanation as according to Tv Tropes)are taken to their fantasy extremes and put into one RP. You wouldn't have to be familiar with mbti to participate, just look up a bit about the type of your character.

In non-nerd terms, it basically would mean that one RP would have a sociopathic mastermind (INTJ), a mad, borderline-crazy genius who dashes around beginning, but not necessarily ending, all sorts of wacky and destructive projects (ENTP), the character who seems to know the emotions, feelings, backstory, motivation, childhood trauma, strange habits, and the breakfast of every other character by some bizarre superhuman empathy(INFP), the awe-inspiring wanderer who throws himself into fighting dragons and whatever other bizarre ideas come to his mind (ISTP), and so forth, all in one RP. With no 'regular' characters. It would basically be a test in seeing how long it was until they managed to break the RP itself.

It would be a relatively reform fantasy setting with plenty of dragons and necromancers to slay, kingdoms to build, etc, and no one would be limited by things like 'things being realistic'. Those ENTJs and ENFJs could get going on their empires in a few posts for all I minded. I'd write up brief descriptions of what I think a fantasy extreme for each of the types would be, so if you don't know mbti, it's no problem. c:

So far I only have a basic idea of the plot/characters and kind of just things that would be cool to happen, but I would love to develop it more with you guys.
I'm planning on making the RP + a disucssion thread on AS when I get time this weekend, but do you guys want to reserve any characters? (And also, I would prefer to do this on AS because it's easier in terms of, you'know, pirates, but if anyone has an issue we can always do it on here too.)

And like maybe it starts out with the captain meeting their first mate and people can pair up and develop their relationships with other characters before they even become part of the crew, or maybe they're all on the same ship for some reason (like one is raiding, one's a guard, one's there to steal everyone's money, etc.) and they end up on the same boat and survive together or they're all in jail for one reason or another and the captain (or someone) comes to break them out and recruit them an no-one gets along very well because they clash so much, but then they have all these adventures and get closer. :3

Ah, I have this idea for the plot where the musician wasn't an original part of the crew and the captain or whoever recruited them and no-one trusts them because they were a former marine officer and everyone thinks that the musician will betray them. So if anyone wants to play two characters they can play someone from the original crew and we could roleplay for a while and then introduce the musician?

Oh gosh this is long now. ;n; I'm sorry for blabbing so much about it, I just have a lot of pirate RP feels //sobs quietly.

You brought my pirate love back to the surface. I'd love to throw my cook, Sholto at you. He used to be one of my favorite characters to play; egotistical, arrogant and a huge drunk. He also has a dog that accompanies him but if you didn't like that the dog could get killed off while the pirates are in jail or something. Sholto wouldn't be very happy. xD
