"Again?!" She squealed. "Follow me!!" She ran to Twitch's burrow, whistling in terror.

"Get in the burrow, again!" He weeked, scrambling there himself.

Runt scurried into the burrow, clutching a branch of huckleberries in her small jaws.

Sparks leaped into the burrow.

He followed the group into the burrow. "What do we do?!"

"Hide. Here, I'll lead you to the room with the least excess dirt-less to get in your fur." She squeaked, happy,to show him around. She liked that he was long haired like her.

But...can't he stick his head in and snatch us up...?,he thought silently in his head. Nevertheless, he followed Rowan into the cleaner, neater area. "This is lovely!", he purred,"Less dirt to get in my fur!" He scooted closer to Rowan and whispered in her ear,"I-It's embarrassing b-but...I have a phobia of mud and other dirty things getting stuck in my fur..."

"That's all right. I have a phobia of grasshoppers." She shivered at the thought. She took a turn in the tunnel into a small neat room carpeted with grass. "And I'm sure you're wondering if the hawk can get us by sticking its head in. The thing is, this burrow is so big that it can't reach very far down!" She squeaked.
