It's likely because the dragons really did grow up on the same day rather than after a certain number of days. Sorta like a bunch of the old staff/Tess birthday pets.
For example, on
this page of the October 2009 Growths thread, there's a gray dragon (middle-ish of the page) that was adopted on October 2 and a green dragon (top of the page) that was adopted on October 4. Adopted more than 24 hours apart, right? So if they were using the usual grow-after-x-days system, then they should have grown on different days. Yet they apparently grew (in this case, the rocks cracked) on the same day; the posts are barely 15 minutes apart. (For clarification: They probably grew at the same time, but the posters just noticed/posted their growths at different times) There are more examples in that area. Apparently, everyone's rocks cracked on October 16 GMT, no matter what day the dragon was adopted. And then you don't really see anyone posting about the dragons on October 17 GMT. And no one posted about cracked dragon eggs on October 15 GMT.
This is also reflected in the growth chart
in this post. (Though it seems like the egg-crack date was typed wrong.)
Was your pet adopted December 18, any year, or December 24, 2011? It is most likely an older pet! CLICK ME to identify your pet!
