╚══════════════╝ Kaoru had, in essence, given in to his body's wishes, and after about a minute of sitting up with his back straight, realized that the teacher didn't seem to be paying attention anyway. He spent the rest of his homeroom class with his head pillowed in his arms, which were crossed over one another on his desk, silently listening to the teacher. Or, at least he had been, until the tune he had been writing last night popped back into his head, and refused to vacate it's apparently comfy spot. "First period already?" he mumbled quietly to himself when the teacher dismissed the Sakura students, lifting up his bag from where it had been thrown on the floor next to his on his earlier haste. Before anything else, the brunet stretched his arms over his head and cracked his neck, not caring if it drew a bit extra attention on his part. The students were staring at him anyway, right? When that was all said and done, he stood up and slung his dark green backpack over his shoulder, and followed the rest of his actual peers out into the hallway. So, engineering class, was it? Sounds interesting... But, at the same time, it's probably really confusing... he thought, tilting his head a bit as he pondered what exactly the class might be like. He noticed that Daiki and Kaede were walking and talking at the front of their little group, while Kameko and Miki seemed to be engaged in some sort of exchange of apologizes.
And, at that moment, it hit him: he had no idea who to sit next to when they got to class. Daiki and Kaede seemed to have something worked out, so who did that leave? Miki was still a mystery to him, and while Kameko seemed like a nice, caring guy, it was probably best if he helped ease the smaller boy out of his shell before all else. That mean that Akira or Hinata were most likely his remaining choices. The former, on one hand, was someone that had piqued his interest, and he truly would like get to know her better. On the other hand, though, she didn't seem like the type to be overly friendly with someone she wasn't familiar with, and it wouldn't do him much good to automatically assume he was her friend and then annoy her with his company. The latter was someone who looked to be the most shy out of them all, Miki included, and it would probably do her well to know that she could make some friends here. While he was positive Daiki without a doubt would have that covered, the older teen was preoccupied at the moment, and his kindness could be a little... overbearing at first. With that, he strode up next to Hinata, his backpack still slung over one of his shoulders, and an earnest look on his face. "Hey there, Hinata! Sorry for the rather, you know, sudden request, but would you like to sit next to me for engineering class, one new student to another? It's, uh, a bit embarrassing to admit, but I don't think I'll be able to understand everything about the topic on day one, even it it sounds like something cool to learn about. Maybe we can help each other out?" he asked, adding on a little smile at the end of his offer. Man, he didn't sound to forceful, did he? That wouldn't be what he was going for at all...
