Live, Survive, and Don't Wilt
You are a stray, living on the wild streets of New York City. Whether you were abandoned by your owners, born as a stray, or escaped from the pound, you are all alone. You scavenge around restaurants for food and sleep in old boxes or matteresses, and you always avoid the humans and their cars and more importantly; the dog catchers. Whether you're a mutt or a pedigree, you are skinny and smelly, and always stick to the alleys and trash cans for shelter, never exposing yourself. Fighting for food or shelter from other strays is always a difficulty, and apart from the dog catchers, there are rats that carry diseases in the allies. Whether you are alone, or with a group of dogs, you have to survive. You must survive through the hardest times, and don't wilt like how a flower does without water. You are a stray; and proud.

Live, Survive, and Don't Wilt

Before jumping to having an immediate crush on someone's dog, wait for a bit. Meet up with their character and hang out before developing a crush on them. Mates shouldn't be established until later on, and pups shouldn't even be mentioned until you and your dog's mate have a strong bond. If you want to be friends or siblings with someone's character, message them first than message me so I can put it up here. Or put it in your form. Remember, add some drama if you do have a crush, or add some drama if you do have a sibling. It makes it more interesting for the role-play!

    The CIty ;; The city is where the dogs normally stay, hidden in alleys or scouting for food.
    Dogs take shelter in boxes and trash cans, but remember, beware the dog catchers!

    The Pound ;; The pound is where you get taken if the dog catchers catch you.
    If you get captured, there is no going back!

    The Junkyard ;; The junkyard is where the humans dump their old trash and cars.
    But beware, rats lurk in the rusty dump for their next victims!

    The Park ;; The park is where some dogs rest and play, because of the foliage and lake.
    But be careful, you still can get captured by dog catchers!

    The Cafe ;; The cafe is where some dogs go to get a donut or such from the owner.
    But go cautiously, some strays will fight for your dessert!

Live, Survive, and Don't Wilt

The dogs really don't have any enemies, except the dog catchers, rats, and other dogs. Remember, if you and another role-player's dog get into a fight, you won't walk away without any wounds or scratches! If rats do happen to attack you, remember that rats have infected bites, so your dog could get infected by the bite. Also, don't try to be a drama queen and take the show when your dog gets captured by dog catchers. Just, no. Be fair and let some other dogs get hurt or attacked by any enemies; no mary-sues or gary-sues aloud here!

live, survive, and don't wilt ;; rowanberry, my charrie

Postby amicia » Mon May 05, 2014 9:28 am

    | r . o . w . a . n . b . e . r . r . y |

    name ;; Whether it's from the pure fragile look or the sweet smell that radiants from her sleek pelt, this fae's name certainly makes her seem weak and delicate. Rowanberry was named for two things; the berry smell that comes from her slender frame, or how her words may be like poison itself. After all, there are myths of rowan berries being poisonous, so that must be why she was named what she is now. But, notice it's a myth. You can choose.
    gender ;; It may seem obvious that Rowanberry is certainly a female, fae, lady, girl, or however you may call the female gender. If you dare question it, be ready for a good snap to the muzzle.
    age ;; Rowanberry is certainly five years old, and quite proud of it. However, if you do ask her age, she won't get offended. As she says, your age defines your experience with the world and other types of civilization, so why get offended when you ask a lady her age? A true lady won't mind.
    rank ;; Rowanberry is certainly a stray; and quite an independent one. She doesn't want to be in a group or pack of dogs; she likes being by herself.

    Image

    Ⓟⓔⓡⓢⓞⓝⓐⓛⓘⓣⓨ ;; Independent, witty, charming, caring, cold, loyal, mysterious, antisocial, intelligent, regal, graceful, elegant, stubborn. All the traits that could describe Rowanberry. She's one of those dogs who are yet kind, are also cold and sharp-tongued when they're provoked. Rowanberry knows her way around, and is very intelligent and mysterious to eye and to heart. She is not the one to fight in words, as with her wide vocabulary and expensive looks, you'll fall like prey to her paws. Rowanberry, due to being spoiled and raised in royalty for the first part of her life, she's rather graceful and poised, and very straight-forward. Nothing flies by her without her noticing, and she's a rather observant fae, always taking in her surroundings well. You'll never know when you'll need to use them. If she finds trust in you, she'll be devoted to you for life, and always take the blame on your behalf of trouble. Rowanberry can be quite the mystifying character, and very passionate and lovable to young pups or old elders, as no one really knows why. Rowanberry is also a quick-thinker, as if she's in any dangerous situation that she cannot handle, she'll think of a plan as quick as possible to get out of the conflict. Rowanberry is quite the silent type, and doesn't like to blurt out her opinions in a fight, or provoke anyone when it comes to physical biting or clawing. However, she will defend herself if it should come to that. This greyhound is more of the following type than leader type, and would be quite puzzled if anyone would look up to her as an inspiration. She's a dog who will just watch another dog die in the grip of a murderer, unless she knows that victim as a friend, then she'll help. It's almost like she's a bystander in the state of bullying. She'll only watch the kid get pushed and snapped around, and walk away when she has too. Rowanberry is not very confident in herself and will only wither away if another dog praised her; when she first became a stray, she had literally been broken and beat down in the life of a stray, and is quite ashamed of herself for bringing herself to an almost near-death experience as a youngster. So, she easily gets embarrassed by phrase. Rowanberry is very swift to flee in any situations, and doesn't like to stay in one place for too long; so, she's a nomad technically. I mean, who would want to stand around on the wild streets of New York City? Certainly not her!

    Gage is somewhat of a dog who knows what he's doing. Though of his young age, he is extremely intelligent and professional as a stray living on the streets, and knows some pretty good places to get some good bites of grub. Whenever a stray comes for his help, and is somewhat trustworthy enough, this young brute would do whatever he can to help them. At times, he may seem stubborn and cold, but only if he's in a bad mood, which is hardly ever. He loves to make new friends, and is not the best fighter; sometimes Gage can get too protective over findings of food or shelter and this leads to trouble. But when it comes to being wise and thoughtful, Gage is very strong-willed, and is not afraid to go up to a human for food. Gage was born in a house-hold of humans who lived out in the forest, and these humans who raised him and his littermates were goaled on them being hunting dogs, but Gage wasn't very strong like his littermates; so, his owners sold him off to a couple living in the city. The couple didn't like Gage very much, because Gage wasn't a dog who liked to lay down and relax; he was always energetic and ready to play. They were about to take him to the pound, when he escaped, and now lives on the street. Gage is known to be quiet and rather soft-spoken when you try talking to him, but when he warms up to you, he can make you laugh any day or any time. Gage always knows where to go and what to say, and is very mellow and relaxed; however, don't think he's a big softie. If you threat him or the ones who he loves, he's a fairly fierce fighter, and will do nothing to make sure you feel pain. Gage has been known to keep to himself, though, and is not the quickest to socialize, so you'll have to be the first to make the move. When it comes to love, Gage has already developed a crush on Taylor, a fae who's he has been talking too for a while. Gage doesn't mind being romantic or soft around the one he loves, and will do anything to protect her. However, Gage is loyal, and will never leave behind a dog he's grown close too. He will stay in a burning building with the body of a loved one who has collapsed, or will risk himself to save those that he loves. Gage is also patient, and doesn't tend to snap off easily. You'll have to annoy him as much as possible for his lip to even curl. And though Gage is kind, he has one weakness; he hates sharing his past. The way his owners rejected him, makes his heart break. If you'll lucky, he'll tell you. But good luck, friend.

    Life is hard, but we just gotta push through and survive. Ambition is one thing, but surviving is another.

    I would swear upon two corpses if I known what hell I was about to go through I would've just sold myself off to the nearby pound as a pup. My mother, an old fae who sugar-coated everything about the reality of pain and hunger, made life on the streets seem so easy. My littermates and I would crawl to the base of her belly every night in our homely cardboard box to listen to her talk about her days as a youngster on the streets; she would tell stories of stealing sausages from busy deli stores and she would tell fables of her mother stealing ice cream from young human children to give to her littermates and her. Of course, as a pup, you would believe everything you were told, right? Well, my mother made me believe that food and shelter would magically float my way when I was older, and she would always comfort the weary hearts of my littermates and I by telling us that she would guide our paws when we were older to find good food and nice places to sleep at night when she passed. However, look at me now! My pelt is covered in muck and debris, my ribs are showing right through my skin, and my pads are scrapped all the way down to the brim by scavenging and running away from the demons known as the dog catchers. If my mother was going to guide me along the way when I first left to be on my own, I wouldn't look as if I've crawled from the Underworld as this. If only my mother told me how cruel the world could be, that not every heart is made of gold, then maybe I would've had a much more smoother history than being pushed and snapped around by other dogs and humans.

    But however, I did manage to keep a straight-forward personality. Through all the pain and horror I've been through, I've managed to not turn into an insane, blood-thirsty monster. If anything would describe me, it would have to be merciful; I do take pity on them younger, more hopeless youngsters. In fact, I take them in and show them the basics; how to scavenge and avoid humans, and how to survive out on the streets of New York City. But never, do I adopt them. Of course, it would be like me being my mother; sugar-coating everything. You would never want your children to find out about the dangers of the world, so, you only empathize it, but later on, it effects them. So, I never did, or will, have my own pups. I am meant to be on my own; I only have enough strength to feed myself. Solitary acts are my movement, I never did travel with any other dog. I heard about Packs you can join, but they don't interest me. Being by myself is fine for me now. When I take those young'uns in to train them, they beg for me to adopt them; they say they'll be good and will help me with every hunt and every search for food and shelter, but I only reject back their requests. Turning into my mother would be too hard for my heart to take; the young strays nowadays have to learn the hard way, that life is harder than it looks.

    Maybe someday I'll find a mate of my own or have some pups, but in my personal opinion, I'm too old. I had that shot many times ago, when I met beautiful faes and made them whooze over me, before I rejected them. Sugar-coating love or reality isn't something you should do, especially when it's happened to you before.

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
When the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone.
Name }}
Akyra is her name and she prefers it over any nickname if she is given one. Her name is already short. .

Gender }}
Purely female. Akyra has the slim built of any female dog.

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone up there will find me
'til then I walk alone.
Age }}
Akyra is approximately three years old.

Personality }}
Akyra is a pretty independent female. She has a mind of her own and doesn't change anything about herself for the benefits of another. Though despite her independent behavior, Akyra is very shy as she is rarely in contact with any other dog, especially males. She tends to dry and distance herself from others because of her past and how she has no one left from it, she thinks that if she gets close to anyone, she will loose them to. She fears this the most resulting in her timid and skiddish behavior when she is spoken to or noticed as she has little to no social skills. She has a lot of patience and once she sets her mind on something, it will happen even if it isn't in her favor. Akyra is very confident but not to where she is oblivious to everything else.

When it comes to a relationship, more than a friend, Akyra will need a patience male that is willing to accept her for her and not try and do everything for her. This dog will also have to convince her to trust him and allow him into her world which will take kind words and even a clever attitude.

Image
Looks }}
Akyra is a slim but tall and petite female. She has a agile frame and is built for stealth and speed. This stray is a reddish brown with white marking and a black nose. Her fur is long in length and somewhat fluffy but not extremely. She has a long muzzle and floppy ears that are short. Her head is shaped more rounded than sharp and angular, giving her a innocent look. She has deep brown eyes that always seem to see right through you, though it is usually just the way she looks in your general direction. With further detail, Akyra's paw pads are all pink and her claws are white.

History }}
Akyra was born on the streets with only a mother to care for her and her four siblings. Born during the peak of winter, her siblings and herself usually found the selfs huddled close together seeking each others warmth. The lupa was the largest out of her three sisters and one brother during the time and was usually at the center of the small bundles of fur. Their mother was a skinny, well that's a understatement, as Akyra's mother was starving. She couldn't take care of her five pups, she was alone when it came to finding food. The young English shepherd was just beginning to open her eyes after a week of being blind. Still very tiny, she could notice that her mother was not able to support her family as the days past and the milk from her mother shrank in amounts.

At the age of eight weeks, Akyra had lost her three small sisters to the cold weather. She mourned their deaths with what family she had left. Without two more mouths to feed, Akyra's mother was able to barely keep her last two pups alive, though they were malnourished. Akyra was given the history of how they ended up this way, her mother's previous owner was a breeder, though wet bankrupt and could not afford to care for another female with pups, so her mother was left alone, heavily pregnant in the dog park.

Image
Survival was what Akyra depended on. The steady cold nights would soon grow warmer and spring would soon start. They were almost six months near the middle of spring when a man with a pole caught her brother while they were playing, going against their mother's stern words of keeping in the shadows. Akyra ran away, fearful of the thing that had caught her brother and took him away. She ended up running straight into a large male stray, one who looked well fed and could easily kill her without a problem. The pup was shaking with fright at the time, only wanting her mother.

Intimidating he was, but that day Akyra learned that looks could be decieving. She was caught up in a conversation with the stray and seemed to forget about everything that happened. The youngster was surprised when her mother came and picked her up, reluctantly thanking the brute for his help in keeping her safe.

Life cotinued, you could say things were normal now. Survival was no longer her main priority as she reached the age of one. She had been separated from her mother a few months back when a feral pack of strays chased them out of their home. Akyra roamed the area for days, there was no sign that her mother was around any longer and she gave up finally. Through the next two years, she survived alone, with the occasionally accepting the help of a friendly stranger. This was continuous as nothing important seemed to happen in the female's life since her mother's disappearance which brings us to the present, the third year of her life as a stray.

I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's {censored} up when everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive and I walk alone
Crush }}
No one has caught her eye.

Mate }}
Akyra doesn't have one

Pups }}
She would like them but hasn't found anyone to have them with.

Other }}
Nope ^^
