Leonid woke in a strange place. The last thing he remembered was sitting on his rock in the heat of the Kalahari desert. Now he was lying in a patch of... was that mud? He got up and looked around. Around him was damp grass and dirt enclosed with rows of tall sticks. He realized it was a zoo, the place cheetah mothers told their cubs about; there were creatures here called humans who gave animals free food. Now that was something Leonid could live with.
He called out, "Hey...is anyone there?"

~ Ryan Stanley, zookeeper ~

Ryan picked up the blue bucket filled with grey fish, splashing his zookeeper uniform with fish-tainted water as he did so. He walked to the lion enclosure and gingerly unlocked the metal door with all kinds of warning signs on it. He threw the fish in all directions and whistled to get the lions' attention. He retreated through the door.
The lions were among Ryan's favourite zoo residents and he wanted to understand them better. As he went back to the shed to get the food for the other animals, he wondered how he could safely spend time with the lions. He couldn't just stroke them like a pet cat, but he wanted to find out if they could actually grow to like people.

Jake pulled out his phone and looked at the text. " I know you would do it! Were your parents mad at you since you got back late?" He typed back.
