Rush squirmed around, she couldn't sleep. She could feel the presence of... something. She opened one of her eyes. Lightning flashed. Sitting up, she yawned. Shadows seemed to creep up around her... She looked up at the dark grey sky. Something was wrong, terribly wrong. The moon was covered by the dark clouds, and she could barely see. Her ears twitched, her nose wiggled, but she couldn't sense a thing. Every thing was black. Her heart started to beat. That was the only feeling. Bump, Bump, Bump... She could feel it beating faster and faster until she swore it would burst out of her chest. She closed her eyes, wishing it all away. She could feel her body slipping. Or was it her soul? She just wanted out. Out of the misery. She felt like a million guns were pointed at her, and one false move would trigger them. She felt like she was bleeding, but there was the missing presence of the red liquid.
Rush howled in agony. BAM! Her eyes whipped open. She looked around, the same old camp was there. The same old 'friendly' pack was there. Then a raindrop hit her muzzle. Looking up, she ran inside of a cave to miss the incoming rain storm. She was afraid to fall back asleep again. She kept her eyes open all night long.
