As long as you keep it separately, that might not be a terrible idea. But you should make sure the fish doesn't have a disease that humans can catch before buying it, and make sure not to let it anywhere near your other fish or supplies.

Tell her that bubble nests are perfectly normal for males, and if he's making them then it probably means he's feeling pretty good :)
Reality is subjective.

Just leave them.
They will either die (which is good because you aren't prepared for it) or they will survive on their own.

I have done a very good deed today!

I was in petco and I saw a young male betta (red veiltail) with a bit of fin rot starting and I picked him up and brought him to the register and I asked to see the manager. And he comes over and I told him about the fin rot (and at this point I was wondering if I could purchase him) so I said: Hey I want him I can treat him for the fin rot at home. And he said: Would you buy him for 1 USD$!! (I bought him!)

I have a quarantine set up going and all I have in it are Jamaican guppies in it (so I remember to do water changes and feedings) I have two plecos in it (one is about three quarters of an inch and the other is almost an inch and a half) and he is doing well! He has eaten so I am very happy!!!

I have a baby cichlid. he is only about a quarter of an inch long right now. when I found him I put him in a plastic container used to put nuts or candy in that was 4 inches across and 2 inches high. I have been feeding him a single crushed up betta pellet every other day as the pellet is kind of big still. I recently moved him into a half quart jar I had bought some roasted peanuts in(I have washed it out so it is fish safe). I still do not know what kind of cichlid he is but he is really cool. the jar he is in looks like a mansion for now.

It's a ten gal. not much but perfect for a hospital tank. I use it for the Jamaican guppies because I am not a big fan of them but I don't want to cull them. And it has a problem with algae so I have both pleco's in it so they can help with it and so I know they have lots of food.
