Aw poor Al. It's not his fault he's trapped like that. I can't remember which episode it was though, you could check episode summaries on Wikipedia and find it.
And is there really anyone out there who doesn't know much about FMA?

It was episode 44, but it seems like the "vintage armour" thing was only in the manga.
I didn't know much about FMA once. X3

i keep seeing so much of fullmetal alchemist ;A; i've already heard from everyone that it's so good even now and those years ago, but... is it that good? can someone give me a summary along with a review + rating? i'm a little wary on this one. i heard it made one of my friends (a guy) cry, and he doesn't cry at all. at least, i've never seen him cry; and he doesn't cry in anime(s) either, with apparently that one exception of fullmetal alchemist. so... >n> i dunno.

There are actually two animes - Brotherhood is more closely based on the manga. Anyway...time to copy-paste plot summaries!
Kissanime (on 2003) wrote:The rules of alchemy state that to gain something, one must lose something of equal value. Alchemy is the process of taking apart and reconstructing an object into a different entity, with the rules of alchemy to govern this procedure. However, there exists an object that can bring any alchemist above these rules, the object known as the Philosopher's Stone. The young Edward Elric is a particularly talented alchemist who through an accident years back lost his younger brother Alphonse and one of his legs. Sacrificing one of his arms as well, he used alchemy to bind his brother's soul to a suit of armor. This lead to the beginning of their journey to restore their bodies, in search for the legendary Philosopher's Stone.

Kissanime (on Brotherhood) wrote:In this world there exist alchemists, people who study and perform the art of alchemical transmutation - to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. They are bounded by the basic law of alchemy: in order to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value.

The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric - also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist - who almost lost his little brother, Alphonse, in an alchemical accident. Edward managed to attach his brother's soul to a large suit of armor. While he did manage to save his brother's life, he paid the terrible price of his limbs.

To get back what they've lost, the brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosopher's Stone that is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a re-telling of the story from the manga point of view.

Just be warned that there is a lot of blood (eg: in both versions, there's a flashback episode where Edward as a kid loses half of his limbs). Also, I haven't cried at Fullmetal Alchemist, but episode 3 of 2003 was pretty sad, and my eyes were wet at the end of '03 (but not for long...).
Here's MangaHere's plot summary as well because why not wrote:In an alchemical transmutation gone wrong, Edward Elric lost his right arm and his left leg, and his brother Alphonse lost his entire body, ending up as nothing but a soul in an empty suit of armor. Equipped with mechanical "automail" limbs, Edward becomes a state alchemist of the military and starts a long journey across the nation of Amestris along with his brother, trying to restore their bodies to their original shape by finding the so-called Philosopher's Stone, which is said to give an alchemist the ability to overlook the law of Equivalent Exchange. At first the Elric brothers have that one goal in mind, however, as their journey continues they find themselves fighting for something that is much, much greater than they could have ever imagined.

Read more mangas! XD
Watch Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters if you didn't already.
Nadia and the the Secret of Blue Water was made by the same people as Evangelion and it's my favourite anime (also an older anime now so it might be hard to find).
You can also watch all the ghibli movies if you didn't already.
Or take a look at my list (but be careful, you might find some yaoi/yuri on it XD).
I used to be online a lot here, but I became bored of this site and I don't like some of the rules here.
Now I'm pretty busy as well. You can still try to message me though, I might be online again now and then : )
