• liesel was born in australia, and lived across the street from her best friend, luke hemmings. they were joined at the hip since they were just children. then, when liesel was fourteen, she had to move to london, reasons unknown. she's know seventeen and was told that they were moving back to australia, to live in the same house she lived in for fourteen years. she dreaded the idea of seeing her best friend, if he was still that, and hoped that if they did, their friendship was still there.

analiese was dreading her return, know that luke was still probably in that same house across the street. she was obviously fidgeting in the airplane seat, her mother sitting next to her, ignoring her daughter like always. liesel decided to pull out her phone once again, checking the time, noticed they had about an hour until the plane landed in sydney, australia. she tugged on her beanie that was covering her fairly bright, red hair, and played with the curls near the bottom. nothing could describe how nervous she felt. she leaned back in the seat, waiting for the time to pass.

liesel pulled out her phone, now seeing that almost an hour had passed. as if the flight attendant had read her mind, she spoke over the plane's system. "we'll be landing about five minutes. please turn off all electronics and buckled your seat belts. thank you." and like that, liesel heard a click, signalling that the intercom thingy had been disconnected. she sighed, turning off her phone, then buckling her seat belt.

after five or six minutes, the plane had descended, landing and allowing people to come off. liesel grabbed her backpack she had brought with her, and stood up when her mother had started to leave. she followed her, playing with her hands nervously. she continuously tugged at her beanie, pulling it down further, or adjusting it. liesel watched her mother roll her eyes and glance back at her for a few seconds, before heading to the baggage claim. she sighed and followed, her backpack slung over her shoulder. her hazel eyes darted around the packed airport, looking for nothing in particular.

Luke had long contemplated texting Analiese for a good part of the entire morning. That meant since around 4am up until now. He hadn't had the best luck with sleep what with all of the excitement and nervousness (mostly nervousness) of her return from London. He didn't know if she would even want to remain friends with him after all this time, let alone be happy to seem him at the airport in sunny Sydney, Australia. That's right, there he was, walking into the airport to go see his long-lost best friend.

She was coming back to the house across the street from his; the house that he still lived in and the other house soon-to-be still lived in by the same people. Fond memories lay in those houses and on that street, built from the time they were small children. Luke was glad to have her back there, yet all of the churning in his stomach was due to not knowing if anything in their friendship would go back to the way it was. It had been three years, after all. Three entire years. It was incredibly daunting to even just think about.

Feet hitting the plain white tile, he fidgeted with his hair, heading off towards the baggage claim. That was as close as he could get to her with no aeroplane ticket, after all. There was quite some bustle, as it was nearing about mid-day and it was an airport after all, so there was bound to be some crowd there. With his height, Luke gazed across the people, searching for his bright-haired Analiese, who he spotted rather quickly. A beanie was atop that red hair of hers, a backpack slung over her shoulder, and the largest grin broke out onto Luke's face at the sight of her.

Then a slight madness ensued with a light, playful 'aaargghhh' as he speedily ran over in a few strides and tackled her with a giant hug, almost squishing her to his chest. Regardless of whether she would mind or not, to Luke, they were still best friends and nothing would ever change for him.

analiese was standing at the baggage claim, ignoring her mother like her mother always does to her. she was fumbling with her fingers, every few minutes, her finger sub-consciously brushed over the silver promise ring that luke had given her before she left. she didn't notice, that luke had been in the crowd, looking for her. that is, until she felt arms wrap around her and pull her into a tight embrace. liesel let out an involuntary squeak, not expecting to be pulled into a well-toned chest.

liesel wanted to look up to see who it was, but as soon as she breathed in, luke's familiar scent caused her to realize it was him. her eyes widened for a fraction of a second, taking in that it was actually luke. "luke... lemme go." she groaned, now feeling squished. liesel felt her beanie coming off and she sighed. "lucas robert hemmings, i swear to god if you don't let me go, i'll bit you." she threatened, now looking up at him.

"But Anaaaaliiiieeeesee," Luke whined, lower lip sticking out to form a pout as he squished her against him and moved side-to-side like she was a plush, "you're huggable." At the biting comment, he just sighed and let her go, holding onto both of her hands with his own. From acts like these, some of the times, people would think they were a couple when they actually were not. Luke could see a couple of people look over at the two of them but he ignored it. A small, sweet smile on his face, he looked her up and down, not in a 'checkin-you-out' kind of way, but to realise that she really had grown up from since she was fourteen. To be completely honest, Analiese was beautiful. Luke could tell that she had matured at least a little and hoped that she'd still be the same person on the inside.

Luke didn't think that he had changed that much. He had gotten a little bit taller and gotten a piercing and styled his hair up every now and again, however that was about it for all of the change. Personality-wise, he didn't think that he was any different. Then again, analysing himself really wasn't the point of anything, was it?

"I missed you a lot," he told her, biting his lip momentarily, which was a habit of his. Things had felt really empty for the time after Analiese had left. He was so used to spending time in the house across the street that when nobody was there anymore, it felt rather lonely. It was then that Luke realised how much of his time he had actually spent there while Analiese was still in Australia, and now that she had returned, he was overjoyed to have his best friend back.

analiese bit her lower lip as luke pouted and called her huggable. she didn't realise how much she liked luke, in a more than friends way, until she had to move. her feelings caught up with her and grew when she was away from him, not able to see his awkward-self. liesel couldn't help but tear up. she bit her lip harder, holding back a whimper.

when luke pulled back, liesel got a full view of him. noticing he now had a lip-ring and he had gotten a little taller, still towering over her small 5'3" body. she had re-dyed her hair to a red, it being a blue when she had left, gotten two piercings, two spider bites and a nose stud. she didn't really change personality wise, but had developed severe trust issues. liesel couldn't bring herself to trust people after they closed the door to the plane, sealing her in and shipping her off to london.

luke bit his lower lip, a habit he still had to this day, and analiese felt a tear slip from each of her eyes. she felt lost, not knowing what to do as luke said he missed her. she completely broke down, burying her face in lukes shirt and crying. she wrapped her arms around his torso and gripped the back of his shirt, now completely sobbing, yet the cries were muffled by his chest.

Luke also noticed that Analiese had acquired a couple of piercings of her own, which seemed to suit her, though he had never thought of her getting any three years ago. Then again, he hadn't really thought that he himself would get a piercing three years ago. Luke's brows furrowed as he saw tears fall from the corners of Analiese's cheeks. Did he do something wrong? What had he done? What was wrong? Various thoughts skittered through his head as she came forward and wrapped her arms around him and he felt her grip on the back of his shirt. All he knew was that he felt his heart hurt for her sadness and he wanted to do anything possible to make her feel better. His long arms found their way around Analiese, holding her to him comfortingly as he rubbed her back a gently with one hand. Luke felt his light blue shirt get damp from her tears but he didn't mind.

"Aw, Liese, what's wrong?" Luke asked softly, his cheek lightly touching the top of her head. He used one of his old nicknames for her involuntarily. Liese and Liesey were what he had called her before everybody started using the name Liesel, and at that point, it was just normal for Luke to refer to her as otherwise.
