»Name«
This pony was originally called Lillian "Lily" Isley and I got this name from the fact that she resembles Poison Ivy. The name Ceres comes from the name of the Roman goddess of the harvest and plant growth.

»Talent«
It was being an incredibly dedicated nerd who studied plants and experimented upon them with great care; most of the experiments were just ones to make them grow faster, get bigger, etc. But after the... Incident... She went into hiding and is no longer allowed to express her love for plants, she now tends to her demon and her demon alone.

»History«
Lily Isley, or so she was called before it happened, was a brilliant science pony. She had dedicated her life to the study of plants. She would sit in the lab for long nights testing out herbal remedies, extracting chemicals from the plants without ever inflicting harm upon a single leaf. Some called her gifted; others, well, they called her crazy.

It was March... No it was late April because the world around us was turning all the different shades of green. Lillian Isley and her assistant, Tea Leaf, were in Lillian's lab; playing experimenting with the potions.

"My dear, Tea Leaf, come here!" Lillian called but it was barely more than a whisper; Lillian was quite against yelling and Tea had never quite figured out why. "I think we're on to something! It's really exciting and I don't want you to miss it!"

Tea Leaf automatically came running through the other door and to Lillian's side. "What is it?! Oh, Lillian, is it absolutely spectacular like your last successful experiment!"

Lillian flinched away from Tea, her face twisting in hurt. "Tea, my dear, please... Keep your lovely voice down."

"Oh no..." Tea whispered reaching to put her hoof around Lillian, "I'm so sorry." But then she stopped, her hoof inches from Lillian. She swallowed hard and pulled her hoof away bitterly. "I'm so sorry, Lillian," Tea Leaf muttered, her voice hardened by sadness and regret.

Lillian didn't notice Tea's reaction and hardly heard her apologize because she was already back to the experiment. "Dear, bring me that plant over there," she whispered, staring at the potion she was mixing; it was already turning a beautiful golden color.

Tea walked over and grabbed the plant. She bit the inside of her cheek as she returned to Lillian, sometimes it felt like she didn't even exist. Tea set the plant down in front of Lillian with a charming smile that Lillian didn't even notice.

"Tea, put your goggles on, okay?" Lillian asked as she slid her own goggles over her eyes with a smile -- white and shining and it just barely crinkled around her beautiful eyes -- that would've made any stallion swoon. Tea looked away because she felt her cheeks becoming warm as she put her goggles over her own eyes.

When Tea had turned back around, the Lillian that Tea truly cared for was gone and was once again replaced by this stranger of a mare who knew only work and hardly noticed Tea who did all in her power to help.

Lillian carefully raised the golden potion above the plant and then dropped one little speck of it that fell onto one of the plant's leaves and then slid into the soil.

She stood there waiting, and waiting, and waiting until Tea spoke up. "Lillian, nothing is going to happen," she said, "Give up, let's go get something to eat... Together..."

Lillian's shoulders drooped. "I know, Tea. Thank you for all your help, let's go and-" and that's when something happened, of all times when it was least expected.

The small plant sprouted, just a small and harmless bloom, and then in a flash it started to grow more, a foot a second. The towering plant soared into the sky, tearing a whole into the lab's roof. Roots were soaring around the lab, destroying equipment every second; nothing could stop this disaster.

Tea screamed and grabbed Lillian's hoof, pulling her out of the way of a piece of falling equipment; sparks flew as the fixture struck the ground.

In shock, Lillian pulled her hoof from Tea's and looked at the mare in horror. "Tea, how many times do I have to ask you... To... Just... Don't touch me!" Lillian actually screamed this time, her voice cracking at the power in the words. "Tea, Leave. Me. Here. Just go! I don't want to live anymore, this existence of mine is tortured and lonely. Everything is just a game of pretend, I've never been happy and never will be! I have no family, I have no one left who loves me... I'll always be just a frightened fraud!"

"No!" Tea screamed back, tears pouring down her face, "I won't -- can't -- leave you, Lillian... I... I love you! You'll never be alone as long as I'm alive! We can find a way out of the mess... Together!"

Lillian closed her eyes and turned and ran into the wreckage of her lab, tears flowing down her face. Tea deserved better, Lillian was just a lonely and confused freak.

Lillian raced past a flower pot, barely noticing it through her tears. Lillian stopped suddenly and wiped the tears from her face in shock, the flower pot had a face. Though Lillian was supposedly delusional, her eyes had never lied to her. And this pot. Had. A. Face.

Lillian, she heard a voice whisper in her mind, I've watched you for many years and I can't let you die. Lillian closed her eyes, she was hearing voices now; she needed to die before she went absolutely insane.

And then the flower pot started to glow, shining bright green until Lillian could see nothing but the color, blinding her. She tried not to quake in fear of whatever was happening... She thought the light of Heaven would be white... If Heaven even existed for her.

When the glowing stopped, the pot was gone. Lillian blinked until the green and black spots were done speckling her eyesight. She turned in a confused circle and then she saw her tail. It was a magnificent pitcher plant with vines zigzagging around it. Her eyes opened wide in shock.

Save her, the voice whispered simply.

"Who-" Lillian was about to ask when she saw what it -- the voice -- meant. Tea was standing in the middle of the lab, looking around and calling Lillian's name frantically. Above the mare, a large light dangled by a cord, about to snap.

Lillian's eyes widened and unwillingly vines sprouting from the pitcher plant and dove into the ground. Lacing their way forward quickly. And then, it snapped. And no one was there to save Tea.

Everything seemed to slow as Lillian stared in horror at what was probably Tea's last moments. And that's when she saw it, a trembling at Tea's feet, a bit of green emerging here and there. And then it sprouted. Five vines about as thick as a Pony's leg soared from the ground and caught the light about a foot above Tea's darling head.

Tea's eyes followed the trail of vines until they landed on Lillian. Tea's face changed to utter horror. "Lillian?" She asked, "What-What happened to you?!"

Lillian looked at herself and then to the pitcher plant. "I don't know, Tea, I'm just happy that you're safe and-"

Lillian's ears perked. She'd heard something. And then she heard it again, the shouting of guards. Lillian watched, frightened, as guards surged through the rubble of the lab. Two grabbed Tea and escorted her out of the rubble. Lillian saw Tea's mouth moving but she heard nothing, she could only watch in pure terror as the guards' eyes fell upon her and there faces contorted to fright. They were afraid of her.

Four of them started walking towards her cautiously and then when she didn't move, they surged upon her. Grabbing her hooves and legs and trying to pull her out of the lab.

Lillian said something but she couldn't tell what it was, she was still too scared to hear; her blood was made of absolute terror. Then she said it again and she heard herself this time, she sounded like a monster; an angry monster. "Stop!" Her voice boomed but the guards weren't paying attention or they simply didn't care.

"Let go of me! Don't touch me! Stop!" Lillian screamed and then vines sprouted from the pitcher plant in her fear and lashed the guards. They dropped her and she stood shakily to her feet. One guard turned to look at her in anger, a bloody gash cut its way across his face.

"No," Lillian said breathlessly, "I'm so-" And then she saw Tea, standing in the doorway to the lab. Her face too was of pure horror. Horror at what Lillian at become. Lillian closed her eyes and ran, not looking -- or caring -- where she was going. She just needed to get away. She ran through the open hole in the back of the lab and out into the streets of Manehatten.

I'm so sorry, Lillian heard the voice say sadly. Please forgive me, Lilli-.

"Don't call me that," Lillian said. "My name is isn't Lillian any more..."
