The bay stallion chuckled lightly, flicking his black tail around his legs. As she lipped his nose teasingly, he let out a soft squeal, his muscles twitching. As her tail hit him in the face, he snorted, throwing his front leg out. He watched as the mares greeted each other, not seeming to be aggressive at all. Illusion decided to go and cover his mares so another bachelor stallion couldn't cover them. He pranced over towards Soul, whinnying softly, his dark eyes looking her over. He gently nuzzled her side, his ears perked forward. He nosed her shoulder before moving to her flank. He ran his muzzle along her hind legs, taking in her smell. Then he gently lipped her flank, asking.

Asuna darted through the woods, hoping that Ace would be able to escape from the wranglers and find them, she loved the stallion and still wanted to be with him. As Sparks was the lead, she followed her, halting when the mare stopped. Her two fillies were panting heavily, they haven't ran like this before and the two were now exhausted and needed rest. The chestnut mare stood close to the rest of the herd, panting as she looked around. She couldn't see Ace, and she feared that they may not see him again. "What...what should we do?" She said, looking over to Sparks.

Thunder landed back down onto all fours, his ears pinned as he glared at the two men who held onto his ropes. He didn't know what they wanted with him, but he wanted to be away from them. The black stallion faced on of the men and the other moved closer to Thunder, but they made a mistake by leading their gelding too close to Thunder's rump. He lashed out with his back hooves, causing the wrangler's horse to squeal and stumble back. The man still held firmly onto Thunder's rope but the dark stallion stepped back and bucked again, hitting the gelding and causing the other male to panic and back away. The man sitting on the gelding tried to focus on his horse and Thunder quickly moved away, pulling hard against the ropes and causing the rope that the man held to slip right out of his hand. The other two were held by the other man, and they were tied to the horn of the saddle.

Firesong snorted and flicked her tail, wafting her scent. She nibbled at the stubby stalks of grass, and her ears swivelled, catching snippets of sound. She flared her nostrils and swatted the flies away with her tail.

Sparks slowed to a walk as the wranglers ran by. The mare knew they would return. She checked the herd, making sure everyone was here. As Asuna spoke up she turned to face her swiftly. "Going back would be like giving yourself up. We must continue together, Ace will find us, don't worry." Her voice was soft, but cracked in the end, showing she was a little worried herself. With a flick of her tail, she weighed the options. They could head over to the cove, most likely the safest place they could travel to. The meadow was also a choice but it was surounded by mountaines, the humans could easily corner them. The river was too open and the desert had no coverage.

Sticking with her first choice she began moving the herd away, away from the humans. She nipped at them, driving them into a slow canter. She sprang into the front and turned towards the cove. She hoped Ace would join them, but deep down she knew it was harder then most horses suspected to escape.

"All right..." Asuna said softly, trailing off. Sparks seemed calm, so Asuna became a bit calmer but she was still worried. She hoped that Ace would be able to get free and escape but it didn't look like It would be so easy. She had no idea what those things on horseback were, she had never seen them until now. Her mother was a one tame horse but she never told Asuna what humans were. Their best option was to move, and when Sparks nipped them and told them to move, the young mare obeyed and began to move forward. She gently nudged her two young fillies forward, telling them to move. They were both tired but could still travel, hopefully their destination wasn't too far away from the forest they were currently in. She urged them into a canter and stayed behind the two fillies as she moved with the herd, making sure that they kept up and didn't lag behind.

Thunder bared his teeth at the man who had two of the ropes that were around Thunder's neck, but he was unsure of what to do. He needed to get loose...but how? The man pulled hard on one of the ropes which tightened around the dark stallion's neck and made him uncomfortable. He did a small rear and shook his head, his ears pinned. He did another rear, and this time it was a larger one and he struck out at the wrangler and his horse with his hooves. He didn't hit them, but he made the other horse uneasy. He let out a snort and face his rump towards them before kicking, lashing out several times. The wrangler's horse pinned his ears and began to back away, his ears flattened as he backed away. The wrangler kicked his horse and tried to get him to move forward while Thunder let out another kick and began to move forward, pulling against the ropes as hard as he could. The man wasn't careful when he put the ropes around the saddle horn, he didn't put them on very well so when Thunder darted forward, the ropes came loose and slid off of the saddle when Thunder pulled hard enough. Realizing that he was loose, the black stallion galloped forward in a random direction, he had forgotten about his herd for a moment and was now trying to just get away.

Canyon returned the smile, and
began to speak, "My name is Canyon", her voice was barely audible, just louder than a whisper. Did the stallion expect respect, like the stallion in her birth herd, or was he one of those easy going stallions? Canyon had begun to doubt that those types of stallions existed, and if they did, she had not met one.

The bay stallion looked to the lovely dappled mare, his ears flicking back and forth. As the mare spoke, Illusion had to really listen carefully, her voice was so low. As she said her name, Illusion gently smiled, "Nice to meet you Canyon, I'm Illusion." He gently flicked his black tail, his muscles twitching. He had never seen or met such a submissive mare which he liked, no trouble, no fighting.

Canyon smiled, and her eyes locked
with the stallions, though she quickly dropped his gaze. Was the stallion actually nice and kind to mares? Canyon didn't know, she suspected that Illusion would ask for her to join his herd, but she could not be sure. "Nice to meet you, Illusion", she said in the same quiet voice.
