Featherstone looked up as the leader herself padded up to him, speaking to him directly.
"Me? That's... a pretty big responsibility. But I think I could handle it," he purred. "Who should I mentor?"

She smiled happily then looked confused," isn't Scilentkit the same moons as me...?" She mewed quietly to Berryfrost. "He needs to be an apprentice too." She thought outloud.

"His life is going to be different then yours from now on" Berryfrost said sadly "Would you like to go on a tour of the territory?" She said hoping to distract the excited young cat.

Silentkit had awoken after no longer feeling Rosekit beside him. Where had she gone? He rose to his paws and stretched, before making his way to the entrance of the nursery. He noted his Clan mates had gathered in the center of camp and he saw at the entrance, looking out at them. His gaze swept over them until he saw Rosekit with them, sitting beside Berryfrost and Featherstone. He wanted to join in, too! He climbed out of the nursery and padded towards them, sitting beside her and grinning.

She looked over to Scilentkit and smiled at him, then remembered the words Berryfrost had said, his life is going to be different from now on. The words echoed through her mind irritating her." Before we leave... why is he so different?" She mewed frowning." He should be an apprentice no matter how shy he is..."

"He's not shy Rosekit" Berryfrost said watching the kit come out of the den. "He can't hear anything" She said "His ears don't work"

"Oh..." she meowed quietly and looked at her paws. "But he understands signals! And he is a good friend!" She glanced at him, trying to stand up for him."he-he can learn!" She stuttered slightly.

"I'm sure he can" Berryfrost said "But it will be hard and take longer so we have to let Arcticstar figure out what to do" She said looking at the sad look on her apprentices face. "Ready to go?"

Silentkit looked at Rosepaw as she glanced at him and he nudged her side with his gently. He lifted his gaze to Berryfrost as her mouth moved, looking from Rosepaw, to him, then back. They seemed sad. Ears drooping, he slunk back a few paces, watching them. He was unsure what to do, but Featherstone padded up to him, looking down at him.

"What are you doing out here? You could get stepped on," he murmured, picking the kit up. He was going to take him back to the nursery, but not only was he actually in the middle of a conversation with Arcticstar, but Berryfrost wasn't going to be in there, as she now had an apprentice to teach. Featherstone hesitated before he padded back to Arcticstar and sat, placing Silentkit between his front paws. He looked back at his leader, his eyes apologetic.

Silentkit squirmed in his hold, disliking the contact. He leaned around Featherstone's foreleg, looking over at Rosepaw and Berryfrost.

She looked as Featherstone put him in between his legs," i don't understand! He is taller than me, same amount of moons and is still a kit!!!" She hissed angerly. " Traveling can wait!" She sighed.
