Stormstar immediately pricked her ears and dashed back to the clearing following a worried Ashclaw, seeing Chanceheart standing over a motionless Crowsong. She frowned, padding forward to her deputy and Chanceheart. " What happened? " She asked, looking up at Chanceheart, her face worried. " Where did it happen? " She then asked again, backing up a bit and pacing back and forth, stopping every so often to gaze at her deputy. She sniffed gingerly at Crowsong, her ears back. " Get Rowanfeather " She meowed. " and urgently " She then added to Featherstone, hearing the warrior bicker with Chanceheart.

"You brought him here! If he has any broken bones, something vital could have been punctured, like his heart!" Featherstone shouldered past Chanceheart, lightly placing his paw on Crowsong's side to feel for broken ribs. He looked at Stormstar and stepped back. "Rabbitfur already went to get her."

Rabbitfur stumbled into the medicine cat's den.
"Rowanfeather, Crowsong's been hurt!"

Ashclaw, not knowing what to do in this situation, slinked off into the nursery to check on rosekit. "Rosekit... hello?" said Ashclaw softly, her voice sore from her quiet sobbing.

Rosekit's eyes immediately opened, suddenly wide awake. Of course she couldn't see anything but she could hear loud shouts near the clearing. She stood up wobbly. " Ashclaw? " She called softly, believing that it was just two warriors having a bicker. Hearing Ashclaw's voice again she relaxed. " What's happening outside? " She asked, slowly navigating towards the warm fur of her foster mother, rubbing her face against the fluffiness.

Eagleclaw watched as Ashclaw rushed to the clearing. He huffed. What was it now? A broken pad? He sighed, padding away from the warriors den to watch the ruckus.

Featherstone withdrew his paw from Crowsong's chest. Judging by the blood seeping from his muzzle, something had indeed been punctured. He sat, ears swiveling back as he watched the cat's body fall still. He was dead.

Rabbitfur poked his head out from the medicine cat's den, his ears drooping. He hadn't been quick enough.
