Featherstone padded across the camp to the nursery, a ball of moss clamped in his jaws. He approached Owlsong in her nest and placed the moss down, kneading it into the nest for her.

Owlsong looked up at him and shook her head.
"I could have gotten it myself," she protested, softening the moss beneath her. "They're not here yet."

"But they will be soon. Look at you!" He placed a paw on her belly, feeling them move beneath his paw. Owlsong smiled, then lay her head down on the nest, sighing softly.

"Soon." Featherstone pressed his muzzle to her belly before he turned and exited the nursery. He stretched and looked about camp to see if he could partake in anything.

Swiftpaw padded to the nursery to check on Owlsong. " Hello, how do you feel?"

The queen looked up as the small she-cat entered and she smiled in greeting.
"Hello, Swiftpaw," she mewed softly, lifting her head from her nest. "Excited! A little tired and sore, but I'm really excied." She tilted her head to the side. "How are you feeling? You know, being the medicine cat apprentice and all that? It must be exhausting..."

" It is, and with Stormpaw's injury I'm sleeping on my paws! I'm happy your exited, but you must rest for when you have your kits." Swiftpaw purrs as she examines Owlsong.

Owlsong stretched herself out in her nest to help Swiftpaw. She rested her head down and looked at the apprentice through gentle and tired eyes.
"I respect you and our medicine cat. But I can't help but feel sad for you that you'll never know what this feels like. This excitement. Responsibility. Sure, you have the whole Clan, but don't you ever want something that's yours?"
