Sarah looked up at the nurse quickly. "He's awake. Look, he's waking up. He can hear me!" She started to cry tears of joy, but kept talking to JJ. "Can you wiggle your toes?"

His toes moved slowly. The nurse let Sarah handlr him since he was responding so well, but she was ready in casr anything happened. JJ's eyes opened.

Sarah gasped as JJ's eyes began to open. "JJ," she whispered, staring down at the familiar face. She hadn't seen his eyes open in over two months.

JJ looked around, a bit confused. He tried to move but the broken bones wouldn't allow that. "Why am I here?"

Sarah continued to cry joyously. "You've been here for the last two months, Jayje. But now you're back. Oh God, you're back."

"Two months? What?" He asked. He noticed she was crying. "What's wrong?"

Sarah explained everything. "I never thought I'd see you again."

"Sarah," he said softly and held his good arm out for her.

Sarah leaned down and hugged him close, careful to avoid his broken bones. "I missed you."
