Let's see, the way it worked as far as I remembered, is every 15 minutes you could find a banner. (The easiest way I found to find them was to open up links in a new tab, around 10 of them, then use the "End" button to go to the bottom of the page. It's -always- at the bottom of the page.)
But every 15 minutes you have the chance to find the banner at the bottom. Then, you click the banner, and you get either a treat (One of 3 or 4 candies) or a trick (A small item instead like one of the ghost items for dress-up.)
After you click on it, there will be a timer in the same bottom corner that says you have X:XX number of minutes left before you can trick or treat again, like the pound's timer.
That's the hard part to understand, and if you've never done it before, don't worry, you'll get it. ^.^ Easy part is trading your treats, or candy, in for pets.
There will be pets available you can 'buy' with your candy. Some pets are fully grown when you purchase them, some grow into different outcomes. But you can purchase as many as you want as long as you have the candy for it. For example: If you have three ghosts, you can purchase anything up to and including three ghosties. But if it costs three ghosts and a pumpkin...then you have to wait until you find a pumpkin.
The last thing I"ll advise is this...Be Patient! You have around 100 times (at least we did last year, lol) that you can trick or treat. Meaning, you can get around that many treats to trade in. The last trick or treating and easter egg hunting we did, one of the 'treats' was harder to come by! So don't go trading right away until you find out what's rarer to get, what's not. Otherwise, you might lose out on trading for that pet you want.
