Hiko stared at her, a wary expression on his face. "No. I'm sorry for being rude..." he whispered. A small smile touched his face before it vanished. "But thanks." he said quietly. He sat down and leaned his head against the wall. As his eyes slid shut, he drifted to sleep. He shifted restlessly and a line of blood dripped down his mouth. A memory of a sorts began to rise.
"Hiko! Come on!" His sister screamed. Hiko tossed the last of the food into the book bag before he turned and bolted out of the doors. Every cell in his body screamed to run, and that's what he did. He ran like all the demons of hell were chasing him. his sister easily loped besides him. He was pretty sure she could easily out run him, but she didn't want to leave her twin behind. The house behind them crashed into the dirt, the flames licking greedily at the trees around it. He heard wild roars of anger and disappointment and one quiet person, speaking in a fluent language he could only guess was Old Latin. The people raced after the twins, their horses thundering behind him. This sister drew her black bow and quickly sent three black, silver feather fletched arrows heading their way. The three arrows hit home and three men fell. Already, three more arrows were following quickly after them. The horseman slowed slightly, recognizing the deadly skill of a deadly fighter. But the man urged them onward, despite the arrows, and they urged their horses on. Despite being on horseback, the two twins, both having the skill of survival, managed to outrun them. Their breaths caught in their chest's, but they ran with an easy, almost terrifying grace. Hiko turned and sent a throwing knife towards them. Not being a Deadly Fighter and a Survival graced, like his twin, the knife dropped somewhat and landed in the quiet man's thigh instead. The man roared with pain and anger and the men stopped to help their leader. Hiko and his sister took their chance and put on an amazing burst of speed, clearing miles. But one man had managed to loose a gun shot and the bullet landed straight into Hiko's right shoulder. He went tumbling and he heard his sister scream before everything went black.
He awoke with a jolt, face pale, and sweat glinting on his brow. He jerked with surprise when something wet dripped onto his hand. He looked down and saw a small drop of blood on his hand. He wiped the back of his mouth to get rid of the blood, but another line trailed down following after it. Hiko sighed and let it be. His mouth tasted of salt and iron. And something else. Something bitter, yet eerily familiar. He realized it and his body hardened. It was the taste of fear. Something about that memory... That dream..... Had reminded him of his lost and broken memories. It was only a few seconds later before he realized that it was that man's voice. That smooth, slightly feral voice that sent fear into the hearts of anyone. He had recognized it. he shook his head, sending a small drop of blood flying, and focused his mind on Ren and the nurse. Any more and he feared he would break. Again.
