Gathering
Sunstar turned back to the cats seated below the Highbranch. "Cats of PowerClans!" he began. "I'm sure you all have many questions to ask of me regarding the battle that took place two days ago. I will do my best, but there are some occurences which cannot be repeated easily." He and Flowerface were still mystified by the energy orb that had appeared above camp, and Brightpaw could only affirm that it had been from StarClan. The ginger tom decided he would leave that part out. "Just as evening fell, DarkClan took us by surprise, killing Lunarwing the deputy who had been standing guard at our camp entrance. We tried to hold them off, but they struck at the nursery and the medicine den, our weakest points. We would have been lost if IceClan, RockClan, and EarthClan hadn't shown up. Only StarClan knows how they found out about the battle." He sent a silent prayer of thanks to the starry warriors. "Thankfully, Lunarwing was the only casualty besides a DarkClan cat. They were both buried honorably. Unfortunately, this also means that another deputy needs to be appointed. I decided that it would be just fine to announce the new deputy in front of all the PowerClans." Sunstar looked around on the clearing for the cat he had in mind. "Skysong! If you could please step forward." He could just make out her thin, white form breaking out of the crowd beneath him. "I Sunstar, would like to call upon the warriors of StarClan to approve my choice of deputy. Skysong has proved herself to be a loyal, formidable warrior that I trust to take care of my clan as deputy."(Erm... That was lameness on my part, but I guess those are the special PowerClan deputy-naming words. It was I, the mighty Tink, that wrote them. Your cats may cheer now...((Now read that aloud with a regal-sounding voice. x3))or whatever you want them to do to welcome the new deputy.)
Nightfall was thrown off-balance, something crashing into the ice cage and knocking him roughly into the wall. The air was knocked out of him as well, and he lay there for a moment, desperately trying to reexpand his lungs. What had happened? Maybe Winterfur and the cat she was fighting had rolled into the cage. If that was the cause, the battle sounded vicious. And it's my fault. Guilt surged through him for a moment, making him less concerned with getting out of his icy prison.
Nightfire gasped. What was going on? She recognized Winterfur, the traitorous IceClan deputy, battling Silverclaw, one of her clanmates. Not a foxlength away was a round ice structure and an apprentice slamming himself into it. This was bizarre, but she decided Silverclaw needed help. The black she-cat grabbed Winterfur by the scruff, pulling her off of her clanmate. She let go and delivered a swift kick to the white cat's belly, sending her rolling backwards. "What's that?" she whispered to Silverclaw, gesturing at the now-cracked icy structure.

By now, Icestar had a headache of her own. Fine then! she spat venomously. I'll put you to sleep myself. She gripped Shadowfang's mind and shoved it under subconsciousness. "And stay there," she hissed quietly. Maybe now she could calm down and rest. She needed all her energy to plan the next attack. This next one was going to be even better if she had her way. And Icestar always got her way.
